Ok!! Update time!!

Been a bit lazy with keeping this up to date so lets get started --

I got my strut bar in, but the way my sub was set up, the bar couldn't fit so I went down to my hardware store and got a piece of wood and cut it to shape so I can lay down the sub and fit the bar,
Then I tidied my boot up smile.gif

I went back to finishing my Raiser blocks, the bottom piece was missing so I got creative and made my own mounts

Then proceeded to paint and weatherproof the bottom, this is everything that went into it tongue.gif

pretty much ready to install

And Finished!! First photo after they were on

Only about 2 days after the spoiler, I reached in my passenger side to find it basically filled with water from a leak somewhere, I ripped the passenger side apart and couldn't find the cause, because water was everywhere. ....... Eventually it was found out that the windscreen sealant had completely come apart on the passanger side so off I went to get a new windscreen

I always love spotting other 6gc's and taking photos with them tongue.gif

6gc's aren't the most common sight where I live, but i was pretty surprised to see one when my girlfriend and I drove about 2 hours up to see snow in the mountains and behold, there was one tongue.gif

I then got clear turns finally! the last piece of the puzzle for my clear turn singals

I also got a set of TEIN lowering springs from rentaspace, but i am holding out on the install, till i get around to buying some new shocks along with it.

After this it was pretty much quiet for a while as I was back at uni and it was keeping me busy, however I notcied 2 new celicas showed up at my local wrecker so I went to check them out and found that the first one had a white cluster, and I thought why the heck not, ill grab it, put some contrast in my dash

Also ordered some carbon fibre wrap and its on its way, hoping to spice up my dash a bit since I find it a bit plain tongue.gif

The other Celica however! At first I didnt notice, but it was a personal import from Japan, it was in serious rough shape and didn't have much to offer so I was about to leave it, until I noticed it had Power Folding Mirrors!
Then i spent the next 2 or 3 so hours taking apart the whole interior and try to get as much wiring out as possible tongue.gif
Not bad for 50 bucks

That is pretty much up to date..
I got plenty of things in my garage waiting to be worked on, so I got plenty of things to keep me busy (not only uni)

I will most likely start work on the sideskirts, which have been laying around since about april now, then do the front splitters,
But the mirrors are so tempting to work on tongue.gif, might do those first

Hope you enjoyed my update thumbsup.gif

Ok so, I have been busy with university lately, but this week I have off and I decided to start working on the things that have been waiting in the garage for me

There is a car show I would like to attend on Sunday so today I am starting

Tj's 6 Day Overhaul

Day One of Six

So my first day off began as setting up the garage as my workshop for the following days to be ready to work for Front SSIII splitters, OEM skirts, JDM Folding mirrors, and Carbon Fibre wrap for interior bits,
It was pretty damn cold outside so I even put a heater up for me tongue.gif

I first started on the splitters, how ever the photo that I thought I bought was a bit different from arrived

The bottom was completely cracked and scratched up and held together by flimsy zipties.. kindasad.gif

Doesn't matter.. went out and bought supplies and started applying a fibreglass repair kit for the splitters, pretty straight forward except I only applied on the back and stupid me should have applied some resin in the crack aswell..
Will make some more resin tomorrow and fill the crack

While waiting for the resin to dry (before I realized I forgot the crack) I started to work on the mirrors and curious me wanted to open up the motor and take it apart, (Also because i chewed the screws for this mirror and I thought there was a way to see on the other side how far to drill)... then i forgot how to put it back together frown.gif

I started late today.. and its getting too late tonight so this is my wrap up for Day One..
Big mess left on the table lol

Hope to get much more done tomorrow and put the mirror back together haha,
Stay tuned for Day Two tongue.gif

Alrighty here we go

Day Two of Six

Started out with cleaning up and putting the mirrors back together neatly and make sure everything seems to be in the right spot

The screws were eff'd on the drivers mirror so I tried to drilled them out and and they weren't budging so intead I made the hole big enough to fit self tapper screws to use as a replacement, haha it does the job

That was it for the mirrors, they are ready for wiring, but they are last on the list so they have been put away and will get back to them when other bits are done

Now this part I done goofed, The night before i forgot to put resin in the cracks of the splitter, so i did that and while waiting for them to dry I sanded down the other splitter,
Ready to start the primer on the good splitter, I started to spray and after 1 coat I realized the primer i bought isn't sticking to the splitter at all and it just runs down..
Worked perfectly fine on a bumper that was done for my friend but obviously not on these splitters (its some plastic, clear primer), So i swapped the primer can with my friend for clearcoat can and went out and bought some proper primer.
Got home and sanded down the old runny primer and started sanding the cracked splitter, only to be too rough and make the recently dried fibgrelass snap off! kindasad.gif

mad.gif

Re-applied the resin on the splitter and let it dry, while i finished sanding the good one. By this point I had enough of sanding and my Carbon fibre wrap arrived, so I thought lets get started on that

Pulled out some chunks of the car and started simple

The cigarette ashtray thing

2 HOURS LATER

FINALLY! something

Followed by

Most time consuming thing ever.. I've long lost count of how much time I have spent on this trying to perfect every corner,
this is pretty damn difficult lol, or maybe i am retarded or too much of a perfectionist

But lastly, the most rage inducing piece (so far)

I'd also like to thanks for my GF letting me use her hair dryer haha

By this time it was late late night and i was tired, so I installed the bits I've done so far

Looks good but I went through plenty of rage haha,
thats my wrap up for Day two,
Barely any paint, so tomorrow will be focused on getting on all bits primered

To be continued!

Sorry to inform you, but fiberglass does not adhere well to plastic. kindasad.gif
Force it and it just brakes clean off.

Yeah the way it snapped I figured, but this time I used like 3 times the amount of resin, and I sort of tested it with just forcing it by my hand and it kept together

I doubt the splitter will be going through much force anyway, so it does the job
Unless I scrape badly when I'm lowered tongue.gif

I'm loving the Carbon Fibre look! and yeah if it takes a while because of being a perfectionist, i better not even start tongue.gif

Nahh, its not that bad, gives pretty good look for something I paid 10 bucks for tongue.gif

Day Three of Six has begun!

The skirts have been prepped and 1 splitter was ready for primer so I sprayed the 1 splitter

Applied body filler to the bad splitter and let it dry

While waiting to try I started sprayed the primer on the skirts

I moved to the backyard where the second skirt was and noticed some bumps I missed on it and sanded it down a bit all while Oscar (My dog) was just sitting there all concerned haha

I think he wants treats tongue.gif

By this time the body filler has dried so I sanded down the splitter and then primed it

That is it for Day Three, all items primed ready to paint for tomorrow smile.gif

However! Day Three didn't end too well, by the end of day 3 my back was in a lot of pain and I was struggling to walk and was barely able to sit from this bump I had on the back of my spine and I went to the doctor the next morning and was informed I would have to go to emergency hospital and have an operation,

So Day 4 was spent all day in hospital and most of Day 5 and now I need to rest up frown.gif

Looks like paint will be delayed and wont be on the car by the time of the show but I will still try to attend smile.gif

Alrighty... I think its time for an update smile.gif

So my 6 day overhaul got cut short haha, and then I fell behind in Uni and had to catch up, however, Uni for this year is finished so its time to continue tongue.gif

I set up at a friends house and get to finishing off the skirts and splitters

I then tried a test fit and came up pretty well, however they looked completely different colour because the car was dirty as fck haha

In the meantime, my front bumper started to deteriorate really bad, really quickly, as seen in this picture (featuring my cat)

The paint started to peel over the front and at the bottom of the grille, so I took it off to give it a respray

Then it was time to stick the skirts on, drilling holes on the bottom and using mounting tape for the top part, however the tape turned out to be useless, so I got the Sika Sealant out and it did the job, so I jammed some things against the skirt to hold it in place (Yes, that is a printer in there, It's all I could find lol)

It was starting to get dark so I decided to put the bumper back on, unfinished, but it was looking better than before anyway haha

After some time, the sealant dried and this is the final result. For one side anway

Came up pretty nice smile.gif, still have some sealant to clean up but pretty happy with the skirt

I was determined to finish the rest tomorrow, but I woke up today and its windy and rainy, so I guess the rest has to wait until the sun comes up again.. (hopefully tomorrow)
Until then, driving around with 1 skirt and unfinished bumper haha

Update timeeee
An opportunity came up for a set of wheels found by JoshM on the internets that I was very undecided for, but after much peer pressure, I agreed haha

Picked them up the next day for a great deal

17x7 +30 offset on 205/40 tyres

Quite the difference from whats on there haha

However sadly the lugnuts given were the wrong size so I couldn't put them on same day, so I had to use my imagination

Now get ready for a photo montage tongue.gif

The last photo shows how the dirty car is I have been spending the rest of the day polishing and waxing the car tongue.gif

Pretty happy with the wheels anyway, Not the best specs but they look really nice tongue.gif
These wheels however show off that the car needs moar low, which will come in due time smile.gif
