Just one master cam that one can see from the outside of the motor connected to the other cam under the valve cover. -------------------- taking too long to mod since '09

It is a DOHC motor but 7A employed a "slave cam system", the camshafts being geared together and driven off one camshaft's sprocket unlike say the 4A-GE both camshaft sprockets are rotated by the timing belt. The reason why some might view the 7A as a SOHC is that it only uses a single cam to run both. However as far as performance, adjustments in timing your intake and exhaust valves are far easier with a twincam setup as you can use the cam gears to adjust with without having to tear down the head of the engine. Sorry dnewton for using your FS thread to explain this, best of luck on the sale, I'd take it but not on the lookout for an engine rebuild just yet.
