This morning, I got my new cluster ready for the v6 swap, pulled the tachs from the 6gc cluster, and a V6 Camry cluster, swapped the boards, and screwed it all back together, then I decided I might as well reset the odometer for the project car, since it's going to be basically new.

I also added some color to my speedometer and tach, but it looks like I need to do an led upgrade for it to be bright enough to tell, maybe night time driving will show the colored speedo/tach.

Realized that I have an addiction to buying parts for my celi. Just a few more things need to be bought and I can save up for my swap. I also saw 3 6gc in my school today. A red tan and white one.

So finally got time to take the car back to the alignment shop.
Raised the front up 6mm and removed the bolt on the splash guard that was causing issues.

So far no rubbing, so I will be easing back the dampening today and see what happens!

I believe it's illegal to reset / alter you OD. If you have a state inspection, they might consider it fraud or something.

I'm in Michigan the land of let them do whatever they want to a car. I'll also include disclosure statements, and the original cluster if I ever sell it.

As long as the manufacturer doesn't try to sell people a car directly with out going through a dealership smile.gif

Looked in to the laws here in Michigan and nationally regarding resetting an odometer, and,. basically, you have to post a notice to the drivers door specifying the mileage and date at which it was changed, as-well-as providing written notice to any purchaser if you sell it down the road.

and if you sell it, make sure you get a notice from buyer he is aware, and better be notarized.

If I sell it, I'll have them sign a waiver, most of the laws regarding odometers especially in Michigan expire when the car is 10 years old, however, since I've physically modified it, and noted it all over the internet for some reason; I will cover my a$$.

if, or when I sell it. I still have to swap in a motor, trans, interior, and more, oh yeah and install said cluster before I worry about any of that though.

Rust problems?

My original panel was badly rusted at the lower edge/sill, (fit your hand through rusty) but what pushed it beyond satisfactory repair was a deep and complex dent which also messed up the lines of the wheel arch edge, along with an older smaller badly repaired dent toward the back.
Even bodyshops admitted it may not be possible to get it looking perfect again ,which if I'm paying big money for I wouldn't be happy - so I decided this route.
I know its quite a task to swap a quarter, especially one that's spot welded in, and will need cutting and welding in to the original body but I reckon its the best solution in this case.
Along with all the spot welds (theres a lot..), the bonded window needs to come out and of course the panel will need joining/welding in at the rear pillar - which luckily on the gen 6 is relatively narrow and flat so should be easier than trying to join on a longer curved surface. I'll probably leave the paint to a specialist though.

Today I finally got everything installed on my 1MZ FE swap, but sadly it doesn't start, it will only cranks. I have fuel at the rail, but I ran out of daylight and didn't get to check compression or spark. Well time to troubleshoot kindasad.gif kindasad.gif

Today I readjusted the headlights. One was facing way to south and the other to far starboard. Now I can actually see the road, what a miracle.
