sitting out under the florida sun i suppose. I like having a complete interior. it's personal preference. either way, i don't have a need, want, or desire to delete my back seat.

Lol. Weight reduction....Just crank up the boost. lol I'm gonna be sound deadening the car, so weight reduction is not a huge concern for me.

I'm planning to go with second skin audio for their sound deadening shizzle.

That's the one I was thinking of and couldn't put a name to. Last I looked they had some B-stock for a huge discount.

That's the one I was thinking of and couldn't put a name to. Last I looked they had some B-stock for a huge discount. I've used Dynamat on my Celica and thought it was pretty good for what it was. Tried Hushmat on my G35 and wasn't really impressed. So now I'm gonna give Second Skin Audio a try on the Supra and hope it works well. I sprayed the Spectrum Sludge into the rear hatch and back seat area and I've noticed some slight difference. Gonna go back with the butyl stuff later when I get the funds again after the holidays. Anywho, Got started on the front seats over the weekend. First was the passenger seat. ![]() Garment steamer is to puff the foam back up and bring it back to life. The mattress topper is to add a bit more padding to the seats in the event that the original seat foams eventually flatten again. You can see how ratty the leather was peeling on the bottom cushion and you can see the stress cracks on the side bolsters. ![]() Seat bottom post-steamed. ![]() Seat back pre-steamed. ![]() Seat bottom re-wrapped with extra padding added to the two smaller sections towards the back of the seat. ![]() Seat back re-wrapped with added padding to the bottom three sections. ![]() And we're done. ![]() -------------------- -Alex {](O_o)[}

Second Skin is supposed to be pretty much the best from what I've found. Anyhow nice job on the seats! Upholstery is a real pain, even with having the covers made for you.
Yesterday finished stripping the Miata for the most part. Only thing left on the inside is the dash, wheel, seats and belts, and the floor carpet. Stripped the trunk as well. Only thing left now is the A/C system. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

So you're going to part out the miata? Why don't you take the insurance money and mod the hell out of it?

I never quite understood while people cover their ENTIRE vehicle in sound deadening material..... :\
I always did patches and placed them about 6" from one another. Worked just fine for me that way. -------------------- -Alex {](O_o)[}

But with that insurance money you could greatly improve your miata. Suspension mods, turbo,etc -------------------- |

I don't sink more into a car than I can get out of it. With a rebuilt title it's worth close to nothing, better off parting out and selling it off and starting over.
Being I never keep cars long term it just doesn't make sense to spend money on them. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Fair enough. I'm the opposite so I don't really care about resale value. I buys for fun not investments.

Caring about resale value is how you stay out of the hole and not having to live off Ramen noodles.

^That's fine and dandy, but just don't except to ever see any of it again if you do ever sell it. Maybe one of these days I'll find a car I like enough to keep more than a year.
