Luke, it's not in my nature to give up. Giving up on this car is not an option. It does, however, require motivation and I wouldnt be anywhere if it wasn't for you and the other masterminds on this site!

Time for another update. Having the car back at the house is a big advantage. Today I installed the radiator hoses, ran a few vacuum lines, installed the t-belt tensioner and timed the engine, installed the valve cover, clocked the fuel pressure regulator, retarded the exhaust cam 6 degrees, installed the drive belts, added the a/c delete drive belt and pulley, and got all of the drive belts on.
Here are a few pictures.

this is a big bowl of awesome, would there be any power gains from moving the intake cam? I see everyone only turning the exhaust cam

Yes, there are power gains from advancing the intake cam, but should not be attempted without the use of a dyno, and the employ of an experienced tuner.

...it now has a face. I repaired the damaged headlights. Installed the cooling fans, mounted the crash bar and intercooler, and got the fog lights lined up. Bumper isn't 100% on because I'm going to have to get back inside to mount the HID ballasts, and fabricate charge piping. Enjoy!

amazing work on the front end repairs. That kind of work is always the hardest to get right. Almost back to its former glory!

Anyone have a gt40c log in? I need to be able to read their instructions for adapting a st215 throttle position sensor onto my 3rd gen, and every time I find the page it won't let me view it. It used to allow viewing, but I guess they changed their site security.

Also need to double check. Is it the tps connector from a 2000 celica gts with 1zz engine that I need to adapt?

Spent a couple hours working on the Celica today! Removed and replaced the fuel return line. I had to re-position the fuel pressure regulator in order for the 4th gen manifold to fit. I also added an oil catch can since the factory unit won't fit with the 4th gen manifold. I also had time to reposition my main ground wire, and delete a whole ton of unneeded stuff. Pictures below.

This is a photo of the fuel return line, 3rd gen vacuum lines, and charcoal canister. All removed.

Here is a picture where you can see some of the turbo plumbing.

Here is a shot of the catch can location. I will replace the supplied fittings with AN fittings.

Here is a sort of blurry shot of the "over all" view

And lastly. I can't remember what this goes to. I think it is A/C related, but I deleted all of that stuff due to the wreck. Just looking for a little assurance.

Good call! I completely forgot about deleting the cruise control! I spoke with Manny and Smaay about the vacuum lines and am only keeping the most essential stuff.

I guess just to be more specific about what I deleted as far as vacuum lines go.

I deleted the charcoal canister. What I did was ad a breather filter to the line that comes off of the bottom of the canister. For the upper line I capped it off, and poked a hole in the cap so that it could breath as well, and keep dirt out. I also deleted the vacuum lines that go to the power steering entirely. I was initially concerned about idle up when turning the wheel at low rpms'/speeds, but came to the realization that this car at this point is primarily for racing.
For the fuel return line I just used a new piece of fuel hose and connected that behind the intake manifold because I had to clock the fuel pressure regulator down to get everything to fit properly with the new manifold.

id like to get my hands on a 4th gen manifold. Parts of me wishes I got a 4th gen engine instead of 3rd. Cheaper and better.

The bottom end isnt as strong and in my opinion the 3rd gen turbo manifold is better. But the coil on plug is nice, and the side feed.

You could make a hybrid though. TRDGT4 did it. He uses a 3rd gen bottom end with a 4th gen head and wiring. If I remember correctly Tweak makes a 4th gen harness.

Tiny update, but still worth posting as this is a rolling time line of my entire progression. So...I decided that nearly every line that does anything important needs to match the rest of the upgrades on the car. So I bought a few things, and there is much more to come than just this!

...aaaand then I made a new fuel line from the filter to the rail. I made it one inch longer just to give it a bit of flex.

Soon to come...hopefully tomorrow if I get the time. I plan to construct AN lines to plumb my fuel return line, catch can, and air intake. So we shall see how it goes.
It gets a bit addicting so I may end up making lines for my brake booster and clutch slave cylinder.
