I am new to this forum and i am also new to the jap scene.
I got hold of this little beauty about 2 months ago from a good mate of mine for £450 and have finally understood why people say "Once you go Jap, you never go back". It was completly standard when i bought it apart from the wheel that are on it. Current specs are; Engine: 1.8L 16V Mileage: 145'000 miles Current mods: some tiny wheels that dont look right on it. so here is a picture of when i first got her not long after getting it i had to add some audio my mate also had a exhaust that he bought for the celica but never fitted it so he sold it to me for a good price Exhaust could do with a clean i have got some plans for her, just got to fugure out how i go about it. Plans for the future sort out the interior - new seats - new dashboard gauges - redo the roof line and door panels - it some pillar pods - new steering wheel Exterior - GT4 bonnet and front bumper - new wheels - lower - fit spoiler - vinyl wrap roof and bonnet - change headlights - change back bumper well that's what i have planned for now let see how it actually turns out. let me know what you all think. for the spoiler, due to yours already being shaved. id recommend going with a dcd duckbill spoiler since they look sweet and you won't have to drill into spots thats already been welded.
side skirts as well should be added as i think our cars look a bit odd without them especially if you're going to go with a different rear bumper. JDM tails, Clear side markers, and LED interior light conversions just because the stock lighting set up in combination with incandescent bulbs.. makes the inside terribly dark. |

Just so you know, your chassis code is actually AT200, since it has the A series 7A-FE engine. The ST202 was a Japanese model which had the 3S-GE in it
Car looks clean though! Nice buy -------------------- 2007 Impreza 2.5i - Daily

Nice buy cheers when i first signed up and saw all these different versions i had no idea and just took a wild guess lol The car does need a bit of work just like any car its age but im just going to wait till the summer before i do the exterior but in the mean time while its winter im going to be doing all the work on the interior. Plan starts in January and hope to have it all done by the end of the year. while you are talking about the engine, i am planning on doing a engine swap in the summer but dont know what engines are a good swap that fit in quite well. Any recommendations? |

New Update
So as you have all seen above, i have had a recent change of events and got an offer i could not let down. A good mate of mine wanted to buy a 6 gen but wasn't sure which one to buy. We ended up going through Auto Trader for days and the came across a Red 1994 Toyota Celica GT Jap Import. It was only £395 and could not help but be interested in finding out more details. I called the guy who was selling it and he said he had received it in a Part exchange deal. It had; - 135'000 miles - MOT for 12 months - Coilovers - 17 inch TWS alloys - GT Four spoiler - Front strut brace - Induction kit - custom exhaust Now it did have its bad points, the paint work needed to be redone and there were a few dents and scratches but nothing you wouldn't expect for a red 20 year old car. after seeing all this i told my mate he had to buy it as the bad points of the car didn't even come close to the good point of the car. The problem my mate had was due to him being 18 no one would insure him. so he came up with the idea that he would buy the GT and swap with me car for car my ST as i would easily get insured on the GT. Now any one in their right mind would ever turn down a offer like that, so that night we all got in my car and drove over to Brighton to go and see it. when we got there it looked exactly like what i was expecting and after taking it for a test drive i realized that it will need a clutch change very soon but i could still drive it. After weighing up all the pro and cons of the car i decided i had to buy as i probably wont come across an offer like this in the future again. so after all that here she is when i got her home. and here are some picture the next day in some day light Things that need sorting on it - Clutch change - Full Respray - Wheel refurb The will be more up dates tomorrow after i fit some new parts to it, will keep you all updated. |

It looks like your radiator cap is leaking and your missing the cruise control mechanism (idk what's called), but nice find. From the pictures it doesn't look like the paint is too bad at all.

Now you actually have an ST202! Haha I know, well when i stated i had a ST202 on here at first and you told me i didnt have one, i had to go out and buy one lol It looks like your radiator cap is leaking and your missing the cruise control mechanism (idk what's called), but nice find. From the pictures it doesn't look like the paint is too bad at all. The paint looks worse close up but saying that its not that bad few scratches and dents here and there but nothing to bad. i going to get it resprayed in the summer as there is not point of doing it now in winter. you say the radiator is leaking would you recommend that i replace the radiator as soon as possible, also does it matter it is missing the cruise control thing or should i get another one of those? (not that i even know what it looks like or where it goes lol) but thanks for the advise would have never have spotted that. nice trade. hahha now both you and your friend can enjoy the 6gc. Get him on here too. and yeah that radiator's gotta go right now. Thanks mate, im glad he has a celica now because before there was no one round here that owns one (or at least mods it) He is on here but hasnt posted yet but will get him to comment on here and you can follow him. |

Not to step on any toes, but the term "Jap" is offensive as it was a derogatory term used during WWII by the allies. I'm sure you didn't know, but just for future reference.
Also good job on the trade, aside from going from the nicest non-colour to a garish colour. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

I would absolutely suggest checking the radiator cap, and probably changing the coolant. The last thing you want is for the coolant to be spraying everywhere in your new engine bay.
The more I look at the engine bay shot, the more I notice little differences between this and the usdm st204. It's pretty cool, the japs really know how to make 'em. /edit: the radiator is more than likely ok, although obviously I'm not there to see any cracks or deformations, or to see if the hoses are in need of replacing. The only thing that caught my eye is the liquid coming out from what appears to be the radiator cap. If that is the case it is very inexpensive to buy a new one from Toyota directly, or get an aftermarket one. I had a radiator fail on me while I was driving 50 mph and it was just the most frustrating thing that was so preventable if I had known before This post has been edited by HaysoosKreesto: Dec 19, 2014 - 8:09 PM -------------------- Brand new 6gc owner! I have been eyeing up these for the last month or so but just cause i came across them but i might need them now, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230891679540?_tr...K%3AMEBIDX%3AIT http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/D1-SPEC-RACING-R...67982&rt=nc |
