Has anyone took the gauges apart and scrapped the green "haze" off the back of the gauge faces? Switched to white LEDs and they still have a slight green tint. Also, what type of paint is everyone using to paint their gauge needles red?

Yep, had the same problem with the haze, so I removed it. For the needles I put teeny tiny leds under the needles to make them red.

Can you please explain where and how you put tiny LEDs to make them red? Did you use red LEDs?

I drilled the plexiglass under the black face to make more space, then used 3528 ebay red led strip, just removed them from the strip itself, but still kept them in a group of three.

I noticed you think very similarly to me when modifying our cars. I did the same thing originally for my gauge cluster i had white LEDs in the background with green LEDs for the needles. but i didn't like the green that i was getting from the mix of the white and green... So i swapped them out for another color and then the rear circuit board of my speedo shorted on some of the wiring and stuff i had in my cluster which basically broke it and was why i needed to get a new one from you.

And by the way to the OP, you don't need to remove the gauge face to sand the greenish part off the back. You can actually just run 600 grit sandpaper between the plastic and the back of the gauge face until its clear when you look through the plastic. You can also use Q tips and acetone. Don't bend the faces at too sharp an angle and make sure the needle isn't above where you're sanding if you go this way. I was going to post a little guide on how to do it without removing the needles since i know most people don't have an amp to make the signal loud enough, they would also have to get the signal files from another user, and they would have to make up a 12v power supply, or remove their car battery and take it inside to calibrate the needles. Let me know and i can post up the guide i had already started writing.
