I honestly can't think of a domestic FWD that's really any good, at least not until here recently. The first Saturn SC2 looked kind of cool, and the Probe is more or less a re-skinned MX-6. Then again anything GM with the 3.8 was pretty decent, just nothing particularly exciting anyway.

I suppose the Focus, that's only because it was more European than American. tongue.gif The SRT4's reliability is sketchy, like the Cobalt SS. Just seems like the Japanese have the whole FWD 4-6 cylinder thing down better. Oddly enough it seems the V8 powered domestics are just as reliable as anything Japanese, many instances of 200K+ mile examples out and about.

What's sad is when you go and calculate the cost of fuel to get it there. My brother's 2000 Durango has some 257,000 miles on it and gets 14-15 mpg. So some 18,000 gallons times 2-4 dollars throughout the years... Madness.

That's what I told people when I bought the Celica, "Because Rice is a whole lot cheaper than Gasoline."

It's funny in a way, the entire time I had the Celica I was frustrated with how slow it was. Now with the Firebird I'm frustrated with the fact it drinks more than Charlie Sheen out of rehab. tongue.gif

Box I think your perfect car is a 500hp v8 coupe that gets 30 mpg. Too bad that doesn't exist

Buy a car, drive a car, enjoy. Its that simple. Nobody will ever be satisfied. Period. Every car will be flawed. What else do you want.

I was strongly considering a tdi for my commute, but then I saw where they placed the oil filter. Now I'm having doubts

You're never going to be happy with a car box. You either have to find something close to what you want or buy something and make it what you want

Lexus stole my motto and then failed to live up to it. tongue.gif I know it's me, I'm just highly critical with things I'm passionate about. I go out and look at the Firebird and I see a huge project, when in all reality it's a 36 year old used car. My problem with cars, and my other passion music and synthesizers specifically, is I want an all in one package. Which I realize very few cars are that way and the ones that are, sadly are way beyond my finances. Sure I can have multiple cars that do different things, but I can only drive one at once. tongue.gif
