I'm looking for an appearance bump that won't require any other mods, or effect my car's handling (great with 15" rims).
I was looking at something like this: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseU...&sort=Brand

I just had a new top installed, and all it needs now are some rims that don't look so 90's.

Big weight difference between 15 and 16 inch, 16.2 vs. 19.5lbs.

Speaking of weight, I like these wheels: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseU...p;association=1
There's a 5lb difference between the 15" and 16"!!!

*** The problem with 15" wheels, is there aren't many choices for tires. I've been using Kumho Ecsta, and they work better than the Bridgestone Potenzas that were on the car when I bought it.

Maybe I should've bought the 16" rims.......

Somewhat better than the old rims, I guess.....

EDIT: The blue film on the center cap has to be removed, and it wasn't cooperating.

OMG!!! These wheels are so ghetto when the sun shines on them! They're just too shiney. I went through a parking lot, and couldn't find a single car with glistening silver wheels. Maybe I need to try another part of town. kindasad.gif biggrin.gif

Seriously .... I need to paint these things, or knock the shine off with some steel wool. That would look really nice then. lesson to be learned. rolleyes.gif

I wouldn't use an abrasive, you'll hate yourself even more. If it's a chrome paint versus a plating you'll find yourself into the base metal in no time. I would see what the return policy is since you don't particularly like them. Something like the GT-S rims are cheap being they're an OEM rim, also the Scion TC and Scion FR-S/Subaru BR-Z I believe if you want a 17" rim. See, this is why you wait. tongue.gif

I had TireRack install the tires before they shipped, so these might be mine now. I'm getting used to it, but maybe that's because the sun is fading.... biggrin.gif 16" rims would have left plenty of room for enough rubber, and that's a ton of rubber showing now. Oh well, it only cost $900. kindasad.gif

This is the look I was hoping for:

Keep an eye out for someone selling their TC rims then:

Here's a pic from one of our members, lagos, to give you an idea.

Imo go with BRZ or frs wheels, TONS of people sell them with under 3k miles on them with tires for under $800. Literally you'll have a hard time finding a bad set (cracked, bent, etc) because most people are selling them since they bought aftermarket wheels and are just trying to make some money back.

This is the main reason I want to go with 16" wheels. Trying to finds performance tires in the stock 205 55 15 is impossible. Going with 16" wheels will allow you a large variety of performance tire choices for reasonable prices as well.

Honestly. I don't like the look of the Scion wheels. Only OEM ones I like are the 7gc gts, 205 trispoke, or the 6gc bbs. thumbsup.gif

Almost forgot. The Caldina rims. wink.gif

The Scion rims are ok, Caldina looked pretty cool from what I remember but you'll most likely have to get from overseas and mucho money on shipping.
