They used to love me. Asian guy driving sports car in a hicktown. Given that all the other Asians around me drive MAAADD hondas and all the other people drive mustangs, camaros, and trucks trucks trucks, they tried a bunch of **** on me when I was young. got annoyed but never a ticket.

I'd get tailed by them almost weekly. get "anonymous" call ins of me running red lights and driving reckless from the DAY BEFORE! (I don't drive like an idiot btw)
even had cop squeel it's tires in front of me????

best one, true story
Got stopped 4 blocks from my house, cop had his hand on his holster, "PUT UR HANDS ON THE WHEEL!"
"uh... ok. (damnnn!) what's the problem officer?" (as a mustang zipps past at 40+ mph)
"did you know your... uh... license plate lamp is out?"
(oh and that's why you almost shot me) lol
"get that fixed or next time you'll get ticketed"
thanks..... jackass.

then i put my celi away and went to Japan and Korea. Let my sis and mom drive it for a while. they backed off now. hahaha
but sometimes they will see me and still follow me for a bit.

I think the moral of the story is don't be not white. Ironic as it may be, I've noticed the northern states have the biggest issues with law enforcement and racial issues. That's right, the home of The Confederacy, slavery, Jim Crow laws, segregation, the Montgomery bus boycott, and the March on Selma has probably the least amount of racism. I'm not sure if it's because the white officers just know they'd really be in it deep around here if they exhibited any trends of racism, or perhaps the fact law enforcement isn't whitewashed here. Probably a combination of both, but I can't recall any issues as long as I've been old enough to pay attention to the news.

perhaps I need to grow a beard and drive a firebird. lol
but meh, been faced with racism all my life, just because they wear fancy uniforms and have a gun doesn't make them any different from any one else I've dealt with. hahaha

I don't understand racism, I hate everyone equally. Honestly I think I hate white people/"rednecks" more than anyone else based solely on firsthand encounters. I'm not talking "down home & country" as that's all fine and dandy, but the buzzed out on meth/drunk hicks that if you're not just like them you're some kind of queer and going to Hell because "da lard babeh jeezus" hates you because you're not a white supremacist driving a penis compensating monster truck. White trash as I like to collectively call them in order to not offend rednecks.

I'm going to disagree, I think it just isn't pursued the same and doesn't make news the same down there. It happens just as much, but no one is listening and it's probably more accepted that if you're any shade of brown you're going to get more attention.

Yes, because the African American police chief of the Birmingham metro as long as I can remember, A.C. Roper, would let anything like that slide... rolleyes.gif

It may happen in more rural areas without the exposure, but in the two towns I've lived in I've never seen or heard of anything and you know how word travels in rural towns.

Trouble with the law? Nah, they don't pay attention to my car. But they like to follow those who have BMW's and Benz's. But I did had a friend who got stopped once. It wasnt for speeding, it wasnt for anything that would put others at risk. You know what it was? Tints, yeah, and they were legal too. laugh.gif Luckily, the ticket was erased from the existence as the court find it quite ridiculous.

Uh racial profiling is pretty much profiling based on race so it's kind of in the name there. They're calling out that some states prohibit profiling based on factors OTHER than race, some states only prohibit profiling based on race, and some don't have any prohibitions on profiling of any kind.

No problems here with the cops for the most part. I had pull me over a few years ago when I still had my G35 I would assume was out of boredom.

Cop: Do you know why I pulled you over?
Me: No idea.
Cop: License and registration.
Me: here you go.
*Cop walks back to his cruiser. Probably sits and thinks about what he's gonna do*
*Cop walks back to my car 30 seconds later*
Cop: Here's your ID and insurance card. If I search through your vehicle, I wouldn't find anything that shouldn't be there, would I? Like guns, drugs, terrorists, bazookas, dead bodies, etc?
Me: Nope. I just sold the bazooka.
Cop: What's that in your cup holder?
*I hand him my drink. He looks it over.*
Me: It's milk tea tapioca. Would you like a sip?
Cop: No thank you. *Hands me back my drink* Have a good day.

Ha! Another one when I still had my G35.

I was with a friend one night after we went for a run and had dinner. We were going through a pretty rough neighborhood that we grew up in and by the bayou/ditch thing, there's this pretty sweet S-turn that we like to take at full speed. Well, cop happened to be behind me (or at least within viewing distance) when I went through it that night and he pulled me over.

*cop comes up to window and as I roll it down, he sees 2 Asian dudes in the car*
Cop: License and Registration. Can you tell me why you guys were driving wrecklessly back there?
Me: We just left a friend's house a couple of blocks back and we just wanna get through this neighborhood and to home as quickly as possible.
*cop looks over my ID and insurance. Looks back at me*
Cop: Get home safely.

here's another one.

Me in college, taking two of my white american friends home. We're literally 2 blocks away from her house. I see a cop on the corner, I say to them, "I bet you that cop will tail me when I turn this corner" my friends were all like, yeah right, whatever. and to their surprise, he starts tailing me. As I get to their house he's still behind me. Then he see two white girls hop out of the car and slowly drives past. after that my friends believe all the stories I told them.
