I've been searching through this forum and didn't see anyone running 17x9 in the front. Do you guys think 17x9 with an offset of 35mm will fit the front of our cars? Car has a 2" drop.

I wouldnt recommend it. The wheel might rub against the strut. Not only that, you have a 2" drop. So depending on what tyre you get it will rub against your fender. You would need run negative camber and may need to roll your fenders. So thats probably why no one on here has fitted a 9" wide wheel on the front lol.

I just installed 18x8 +30 with 225/35/18 for the fronts and 18x9 +30 with 245/35/18 for the rears and they sit perfectly. Iv only got a 1" to 1.5" drop.

Front fenders come rolled from the factory.

There is a fitment thread that documents size options. Go check it out.

Should be fine. You can fit 45 profiles on them. However the drop is a bit low and mite catch when turning at a heavy front load. It wont touch your struts and even if it does you'll only need about a 5mm spacer to correct it.

my 18x8 +35 barely clear the strut, and rub on the plastics at full corner, with a 225/40's.

I'm looking into picking up some 17x9 +42 with a 15mm spacer in the front and a 25mm spacer in the rear.

With a +35, I figure I can just adjust the spacers accordingly.

But what look are you guys going for? As in a fat wheel that is in line with the body of the car or do you want it to be hella flush? For instance if you went for the 17x9 +35 wheels on the front, the wheels will stick out 5mm from the fender, which isn't really that much.

And for you Bloodmoney, a +42 wheels with 15mm spacer would make the offset +27 and therefore making the wheel stick out by around 13mm.

But like i said it depends on what look you are going for.

I want the hella flush look but I wouldn't mind if it sticks out 5mm. Might just have to do some pull and roll on the front fenders. I was just worried that it might not clear the struts. I was planning on getting some Enkei RPF1 17x9 +35 or Rota Grid 17x9 +35

Well if you're not in a rush i can try to measure the gap on my fronts next week.
Since mine is 8" wide with +30 offset... that would mean the distance from my strut needs to be greater than 17.5mm in order for your wheels to clear the strut.

I just want a fat wheel that lines up with the body lines. I'm not going for hellaflush, just trying to stuff as meaty wheels and tires as I can under there....

i wanted those 17x9 rpf1's too but they dont ship out till late sept , im still deciding if i want them still

most ive seen is 235's in front, et35 is good offset, et30 even better, i wouldnt spacer that

im not sure if the gt4's have the same sort of base as far as offsets go but this week i should be getting 17x8.25 +25 im still unsure of how easy it will fit once i lower it(STOCK HEIGHT RIGHT NOW) but according to the thread about if theyll fit, it should be almost flush, does anyone have any pics of a setup like this?

gawd those 17x9 rota it-r's would look good with that huge concave, someone please DO IT, they are dirt cheap, $680 shipped brand new

Hi. I'm new here and have a 1996 toyota celica gt. I have been trying to figure out how wide of a wheel i can go with. Will a 17x8.5 with a 35 offset work and not rub. I don't mind if it bearly sticks out passes the finder lip just want some deep dish on there. Thanks!!
