okay so i need new tires for summer, I'm running 195-65 continental extremewintercontact and there were great for winter, but i don't want to destroy them. I've been looking for rims so i can have two sets. I've thought about 7gen gts and scion tc oem rims but i can't find gts rims in my area and all the scion rims i find are $200 with bad tires on them, so i would need to replace the tires on top of buying the rims. on tire rack they have sparco asstto gara 16" for a $396 a set. http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseU...&sort=Price

I'm thinking of going with the sparco's but I'm not sure what tire to get with that. i would like to keep it under $800 including shipping so i was looking ay hankook ventus v2 conpect2 or Sumitomo htr z II

its about $780 all together for either tire mounting and shipped to my door on the sparco's is that a good deal for rims and tires?

any help would be much appreciated!

I have the HTR ZII in 195/55/15. I'm happy with them but (didn't think I'd say this) I really haven't pushed them hard. They don't make any strange noise and they seem to be wearing slowly, so they suit me just fine. Response is okay too, they seem a bit mushy but I want a "GT" feel for the car, so it fits. I purchased mine from Tire Rack for $188 after rebate.

Discount tire direct is much better than tire rack in my personal opinion. Tire rack charges for shipping ect discount tire does not. I got brand new set of konig lighting 16x7 and falken 612+ for 728$ shipped to my door step... Honestly best tire in class is cooper cs5. Read the reviews on it. Discount tire direct has em for 101$ each and they offer a 60$ mail in rebait when you buy 4. They also give you 40$ off an online order and for a better price remove the certificate for warranty to save 51$.... If you order. Rim and tire package they come to your door step balanced and installed on the rim. All you'll have to do is jack car up and throw rims on... Discount does NOT have enkei and other higher end names but it does have konig and I think konig are the best 100$ per rim you can buy.... I've had my last set for 4 years no issues... I'd stay away from drag rims they sell. Yeah that look cool but drags junk. Look at one the wrong way and it'll bend.

If Cooper makes the Zion in your needed size I'd recommend it. Also Kosei makes a good rim for a good price.

thanks guys! discount tire direct looks like its a better deal for tires. Ive thought more about rims and for now im going to pick up some steel ones from the scrap yard and save my self some money haha. Im still deciding on tires though, the cooper cs5's look like a good choice. but the hankooks are cheaper...

You get what you pay for just remember that. I wish I would've gotten the cs5s. Comes with longer tread life and its one hell of a tire.
