I have good compression, timing belt hasn't jumped any teeth. I have fuel and spark but it just cranks and cranks. I have replaced the distributor and when I did it started first couple times but then quit starting again. It does start when pulled. Was thinking crank sensor, any other ideas?

hhmmm you have good compression, fuel and spark. thats all you need. how did you verify these?

It starts when your distributor is pulled? That doesn't make sense, it wouldn't get any spark I you didn't have it in there.

Well I got zapped with checking spark lol held the wire out a bit from igniter. It started after I replaced the old distributor with a new one but then went back to not starting and used a compression gauge on each cylinder

The cooling fans come on as soon as it is started as well I'm not sure if it has always done that or if may be there is a short somewhere

you need to pull the spark plug wire out, take out the spark plug, stick it in the wire and hold it against the valve cover. crank the engine over and see if the spark plug fires. there are videos on you tube to show you how to do this....

spark out of the igniter does not mean spark out of the DIZZY

I haven't checked timing yet not sure how to on it? Any thoughts on the crank sensor being the issue?

its not the crank sensor if you are getting spark. however timing could be responsible. set the crank at TDC (the 0 on the timing cover) and then look at the marks on the cams. they should like up with marks on the back of the cover plate. tons of pics on here that show this.

check your ignition fuse, i blew mine once and it did the same thing. Just a thought

You set the timing by rotating the distributor. If you took it off and replaced it you probably didn't get it back in the same spot as the original.
