I'm sure you'll do fine, plus there's the guides here and I'm sure people will help if any problems arise. If anything the hardest part of the swap will be doing the manual conversion.

Honestly that's the part I'm worried about the most. The Beams wiring seems straight forward but going from auto to manual seems like it'll be challenging,

The swap shouldn't be too bad because you have a 94. From what I read it shouldn't be too challenging! Gonna hopefully swap mine out this fall and im feeling confident about it!

Box, I replaced the valve cover gasket last month and have been frequently checking around it to make sure it isn't leaking and so far it hasn't leaked a drop! But I think you're right on the seals... On the pass. side I took the wheel off to get a look at it in there and holy s**t is it wet...

I'm not sure what it is but I just feel like something is a little bit off.. Literally... I have more pics too but the quality isn't the best... I'll post them in a different thread tho!

I know Ferdi did a manual conversion here recently, but his was the ST. Though things like the pedal assembly and clutch master should be the same, so should the shifter assembly aside from the cable I believe. Then it's just a matter of getting the right trans mount, and more less doing a clutch job.

Caleb, I'd clean the area off with some degreaser if you haven't already then check again in a few days to see if you can't get a better idea as to where it's coming from.

The manual swap isn't that hard at all. Since you had an auto, you need to wore the neutral safety switch to the clutch start switch. There should already be a plug in there for the cruise control kill switch on the clutch pedal. Just disengages the cruise when you shift.
Other than that, its fairly straight forward. Get a hole saw for the clutch pedal, easiest way to drill that out. The only tedious parts are getting the shifter cables hooked up, getting the manual brake pedal in (swap the pedal, not the whole assembly, its a lot easier), and getting the hard line for clutch in place. Oh, and bleeding the clutch.
Other than that, its not too bad. I've done it twice already

If you have the right tools in addition to time, then you'll be fine. A little MacGyvering here and there...it's all in the details. Make sure you have a clutch alignment tool, the axle seals, new flywheel/pressure plate bolts, things like that. The other two mentioned most of the swap difficulties and I'll add that getting the transmission and mount to cooperate with the crossmember is a royal PITA.

I had a dream that I was driving my car despite its blown turbo and 3 cylinders working. "Whoaa, I can still drive this!"
Then I woke up and reality set in, seeing my current DD parked out front that my friend has kindly lent me for the time being, a Chevy Equinox. frown.gif

Today I gave my baby a much needed washing. It cleans up so nice!! I also just recently got a job after being unemployed over the last 3 weeks and start on Thursday. Finally get more money to start fixing the car! Shopping list (in order) is timing case seal, timing belt, water pump, t-stat, oil pan gasket/resealing, custom exhaust or just replacement flex-pipe, front tires, rear struts, and after some time brakes all around. Gonna go at it all slowly as it's my dd and it's all not that bad. Aside from the oil leaks..

I will never work fast food. I'll go back to pushing carts at Wal-Mart before fast food!
