Is there any way to adjust the convertible top? My rear driver window looks to "smoosh" forward, if you will, whenever the top is up and the front window closes OVER it, rather than in-line with it. The passenger side doesn't appear to have that problem so I'm thinking the driver side needs to be adjusted, if that is at all possible. Plus, I'm not entirely sure that's good for the window rails / mechanisms. I'm pretty sure the added tension makes it only a matter of time before something breaks with that window assembly.
I've searched all over Google, the other Celica forums, and even reddit, but have nothing. The manual that I ordered has been delayed (thanks Houston) so if any of you can help in the meantime, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks much! |

Any luck so far?
I replaced the entire top on mine, motors and everything. From what I saw it was a pre fabbed unit. No real adjustment needed. But... the top frames do bend or in my case break. Is the frame part above the rear window broken? If the frame is fine, my guess is it is the windows. Adjust the windows instead of the top. That was an issue with mine as well. If you close the top over a closed window, it can set it off track. Always keep the windows lowered when putting up the top. Hope that helps. |
