Hello all,
I have a ST205 RHD, that I plan to convert to LHD (and get rid of the SS at the same time). I guess my question is - does anyone know if the USDM ST204 subframe/struts/hubs/rack will bolt up into the ST205 shell? This car is going to be a rally car and am doing a floor mounted pedal box, rally struts and custom steering column anyway so really just need to get the basics in place. I wasn't sure if the above would fit and also if the AWD transmission will fit with the FWD subframe. Thanks in advance!! |

Awesome, another Northwesterner! Welcome!
You'll find a bunch of threads on converting from LHD to RHD. You can use those as reference. All the suspension parts should be easy to find but if you're keeping the 3S-GTE you might be stuck extending the wiring harness. There are also threads on switching to Mcpherson struts from SS. Check out the Sticky at the top of this forum and this thread: SS conversion thread |

Yeah from reading those it seems that some people have switched US ST204 over to SS front suspension by installing the ST205 subrame and stuff so I am hoping that going the opposite way will be fairly straightforward. My main concern was if the ST204 subframe will bolt up, and if the transfer case/rear drive shaft will work with the ST204 subframe. I might just have to go grab one at a junk yard and give it a shot! I tossed all the OEM wiring in the garbage and will be doing a motorsport harness in it, so at this point all I really need is to get a LHD subframe/rack/struts in it and I am off and running! |

PS if anyone in the NW wants a ST205 SS setup (RHD), I will probably just give this all away when it comes off. No I won't ship it. No the brakes aren't included. :-) I will also have a RHD dash and all the junk under it that will probably get tossed unless someone wants it.
