Fairly sure that's the PCV valve, and there's supposed to be a port on the intake manifold up under the fuel rail if I recall correctly.

Just hop onto RockAuto and Amazon, then can cross-reference parts numbers if you feel like it.

Thank you so much for showing me that!!!! As always your a pleasure to talk to box! And I do have another question, how do you remove this valve? Any ideas? I watched some YouTube videos for some other types of PCV valves and they just pull it out of there. Im kinda scared to just yank mine out of there if its suppose to come out a different way. Can someone verify this for me? |

It just pops out while smashing your hand into the fuel rail and intake, pretty straightforward stuff. I think I might've used a flat blade screwdriver to pop it out since I value my hands.

Just use a pair of needle nose pliers and pull it out, the grommet will be in there still. Then you can get a razor blade and cut it up, have a vacuum ready to suck up the parts that fall into the hole. Once you cut out 1/4 of it, you can pull it out with the needle nose pliers.

No need to be cutting things up, put the the flat blade behind and under the lip and work it down while applying upwards force.

Take the valve cover off so you don't drop in any rubber parts that crumble off.

Fair enough. Mine was still pliable and had been replaced at one point, but I already had a new grommet so it was going in.

Thanks guys! All very useful information. I will asses the groumet before removal, if its pliable then i will not remove the valve cover, if its not pliable anymore then i will remove my valve cover to remove it.

If you do pull the cover remember to grab a new gasket, and since you're already there I'd replace the spark plug tube seals while I was at it.

I ordered the parts I needed but I havent ordered a valve gasket and the spark plug tube gaskets, gonna wait till I start the removal process to see what I need to do. Hopefully its an easy job :-P. |
