I say we take up a collection to fix box's botched box.

I don't want to spend the next 40+ years of my life the way I have been lately, that's not living...

I appreciate the thought. I asked the T/A forum what they would pay for it since someone already so nicely pointed out I was asking too much for it. So I'll also ask here. At $3,500 OBO I had 31 watchers and right under 1,800 views, but no one made contact. I have one listing left so I need to get it this time around. I'd think I'm not too terribly far off, it's a complete solid car with a clean title and a motor that's worth just as much as the car is as a roller. It's just frustrating, if I was able to I'd just have fixed it already. Instead I get to lose my ass on it apparently.

On the days I don't feel like I'm dying, which today was also one of those. I've never heard of them so will have to look into it.

Seen that one before, the 33% feedback doesn't really instill confidence. I rather take my chances with a used $200 one off Craigslist. Which I probably would if I had the place and help to do it.

Well according to them it's worth $750, maybe $1,500 if I'm lucky since the trans is borked and it's not a Trans Am... **** it I'll just give it away and never buy another car.

ok, who says its worth 750? transams forums? if you sell it at 1500 are you loosing money?

its probably a good idea to sell it at a breaking even point.

1. why do you need to sell?

2. Are you in a rush to sell?

3. Can you store the car?

reason I ask is why not store it, and fix it slowly. maybe at one point youll get better, or someone along may come that can help.

put a craigslist ad. "will pay someone 50 to 100 bucks to remove transmission" maybe some kids in the vicinity, and put it on a table. then pay someone to put it back.

Listing the car several times in ebay, wont help. Not the best buyers there. try bringatrailer.com

also, listed several times on ebay. Same watchers, are possibly waiting for the car price to drop more, and more and more....

too many on ebay too, so you have to do something to attract buyers.

start the listing at 100 usd, and place a reserve. 3k, 4 k, whatever. that will give you an idea of how much they are willing to pay. then you decide to sell if reserve not met

do not list more information than you really need to sell the car...

Id be honest, by the time i read all the paragraphs in listings, my interest is down. and kills curiosity. sometimes when there are tons of lines, and lines of description, i move on.

I need to sell since I'm not capable of fixing it myself. I need something that has working A/C even if the trans hadn't trashed itself.

Not in a huge rush, but being without a car gets annoying and is an inconvenience.

I wish I could store it, if I could I'd sell the engine to the thousands of Chevy lovers and then store the body for later.

If I sell it for anything under $3,000 I'm losing money. According to the T/A forum it's worthless since it's not a T/A and has a Chevrolet engine... It's a clean complete solid car with a clear title though, that alone should be $1,000-1,500 not to mention the $2,000 circle engine sitting in it...

I just moved it to the front of the yard and put a For Sale sign in the window, so we'll see how that goes. I'm just tired of this kind of crap happening, and I'm tired of not being able to do anything anymore. I should've never sold the damn Celica, my uncle had fixed everything and it's still going strong till this day getting the wheels driven off of it by the kid that bought it.

I checked out the bringatrailer.com but it looks like you have to be chosen, I don't think my car is worthy enough for that. My stepdad found another site called racingjunk.com or something like that where he bought a 20 foot dragster.

Trimmed the fat from the writeup on the car for the paper in the window, will also reuse if put online again. Unless anyone knows someone near me that'll swap transmissions for a few cases of beer received after completion.

Don't know any Spanish, know some Japanese though. Don't particularly see how that helps in this instance but that's ok.

That's ok, brother had to go to town to deposit check so I rode along to finally deposit the proceeds from the Miata and just going down state highways in his '12 Genesis Coupe kicked my ass. I really think there is no car I'd be comfortable riding in. The Celica was maybe a little better than the Genesis, the Miata was abysmal, and oddly enough the Firebird wasn't so bad. I should get a '68 Coupe DeVille, its wheelbase is longer that some cars.

129" of pure luxury between those wheels.

More like 10 miles per gallon, gah... Not bad though for a 4,600 pound car with a carbureted 472 pushing 375 hp and 525 ft lbs of torque though. Throw in a 500 crank to bump it up to said displacement and up to 400 hp and 550 ft lbs. Get an aftermarket EFI setup for more power and efficiency and it'd really haul some ass.

I hate sedans though, so none of that nonsense. I don't know, have to get the Firebird sold first anyway.

Could always sell the hood and breather and use that money to fix the trans.

Sprayed the last coat of red on the windmill part for my aunty, put it under the heat lamp to accelerate paint dry time, just went and peeled off some of the masking tape on the 3 of the tips to expose the white paint under and damn it looks purdy! The paint was still a little soft so the tape embossed a little almost woodgrain like pattern on it which actually looks really cool! I need two lamps but why bother when I just turn it to hit the next section

Once this paint is dried I'd like to toss on a coat of clear in hopes of better durability but I've read clearing over rustoleum is a no no so I'm just going to leave it alone. The clear would have made the paint line at the red/white look a little nicer. It's going to be spinning 6 feet up in the air, no one will really notice
