I am currently having problems with my redtop beams motor, it seems to have idle fluctuations almost as if I am revving the motor vroom vroom and then it drops , and sometimes it drops so low as if it's going to die then picks back up. Sometimes when I startup the car is sounds as if something is grinding. I have replaced MAF sensor, checked all the vacuum lines , and I have tried swapping out vvt and the problem still persists. When the vvt is disconnect when the car is running, then the idle raises but no idle fluctuation then. Does anyone know what the problem may be? I think it may be something with the vvt since when disconnected it doesn't fluctuate? Thanks in advance

Also it seems to lag during acceleration

The ISCV underneath the throttle body is notorious for getting gunked up. Just take it off and clean it up really well, problem solved. smile.gif

I thought that idle issue was the problem but for me it turned out one spark plug was tightened correctly and came loose two years after I installed new ones. Shot up into the coil on plug and striped threaded in cylinder head.

Haha all vacuum lines. How many are there like 2

I did clean up and iscv and even replaced it with a new one problem still happens. The idle isn't steady. It fluctuates a lot

Lol I know right. I haven't checked the spark plugs I don't think that would be the reason for idle fluctuations.
