I bought a cheap knife and it came in the mail today. Couple passes on the kitchen stone and it's sharp enough for anything I'd need it for. I think I'll leave it in the Celica as a utility knife.

I've thought about buying a nice sturdy box cutter for such, at least that way it's easy enough to explain in any situation should such so be needed.

I installed my super bright LED rear turn signal bulbs and load resistors so they don't hyper flash. I hate using load resistors because it defeats one of the purposes of using LED's which is consuming less power. But they are bright as **** and spread light around a lot more so there is that. I didn't get around to dimming the fronts any this weekend, didn't feel like it.

Should be able to find an electronic flasher meant for LED bulbs that'd work in your car, what my brother ended up doing on his Genesis with the LED tail lights and switchbacks used on front turn signals.

Found this: http://bham.craigslist.org/cto/5453923668.html High miles but seems to be in good shape, already dropped the price a few hundred after a few days so I guess will keep an eye on it. Not wild about pewter, but it's better than bright red.

None available for a 98 Mazda 626, uses a weird Mazda/Ford flasher only found on the 626 and a handful of other Mazda/Ford models. Not a standard type of flasher, has 7 pins but not the right 7 pins for a Tapaturn flasher. The resistors are bonded with thermal epoxy to sheet metal so they have some extra heat sinking going on.

Thought I clicked "add reply" but apparently not... More or less said it was lame there's not a premade solution but at least you got it figured out.

Also I'm already about to give up on the notion of finding a manual F-body, if I was going to spend the money for the one listed I'd like for it to either be a hardtop or at least be a colour I like if it's going to have stupid T-tops. I'm close to saying screw it and get a Mustang if I can handle the clutch now, plenty with manuals and they're all hardtops except for the ones that're convertibles. Oh and you can actually access the engine, what a novel idea...

Got some more shizzle done to the car. Trying to move slow and steady so that I don't lose my mind. I ordered EVEN MORE screws, clips, etc from Toyota this morning to add to my inventory of OCD-and-Anxietiness. Kinda stress-ballin out at the moment, but I think I'll be a little better once we get closer to completion. But as always, there's always going to be some kind of odd, nagging feeling in the back of my mind that's gonna tell me, "I should've done this instead." only for my wallet to reply with, "Come again for Big Fudge?"

Anyways, got some progress done on the car today. Picked up my front mount intercooler core that should hopefully be fitted tomorrow, so I can give my friend back his stock side mount core.

Sans badging, wiper arm, sprayer nozzle, and some lower retainers, her butt is finally all together properly with the updated tail lights. The tail lights aren't working under normal function at the moment, so I'm going to look into that tamale to see what the dealio is.

I didn't snag a picture of it, but my friend updated all of my front end wiring to coincide with the updated headlights and turn signals that I am having put on the car. I'll snag a picture tomorrow when I head back down there. He has to redo one of the harnesses anyways.

I got 2 moldings installed onto the chassis along with the exterior door handles. I was planning to install the front weatherstripping, but it seems I'm a little short of one of my drain lines for the targa top, so I need to possibly order a new one of those and then figure out where they run to. Gonna look into that tomorrow as well.

Whilst my friend was working on my turn signal harnesses, I went ahead and wrapped up the front bumper I had started working on last week.

Had to put in a bit of grunt work into the bumper to get the JDM sidemarkers (which you can see here) to fit and for the driver's turn signal to sit flush with the opening, but it turned out nice after a bit of finesse with the dremel.

Here's where I left the action from last Friday with the front bumper:

And now the bumper's ready to go! Garage Whifbitz front lip properly installed, updated turn signals on, JDM bubble side markers are on and the '97-'98 bumper insert is partially secured until we get the bumper on to the car! Excuse the sagging titty of a bumper at the top. It sat for a while with no support, so I finally placed the bumper impact foam into it earlier tonight to give it some lift.

Tomorrow, hopefully I can tackle the front mount intercooler set-up along with the front bumper. After that, gonna try to get the door's guts all sorted out properly.Hopefully I got everything for that as well. oh lawd....

Oh yeah, and good job, Toyota.

Molding ass is another name for....nevermind.

For the front turns if you want to get rid of the egg yolk look I suggest grabbing a set of LED bulbs like these and a EP35 flasher.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OGOCSS...ailpage_o02_s00 but obviously in whatever bulb size you need. They're super ****ing bright.

Now no one can ever claim to not see your turn signal. laugh.gif

Whenever I figure out what car I want and get it I'd like to do lighting upgrades everywhere possible as well.

That's right, and out back I have JDM Philips T20 Amber bulbs, honestly imported them from Japan. They are bright as hell and work perfectly in the housings. I love doing little unique things like this that I know no one else or at least very few people have done. No one may ever notice in fact, but I still like it. I don't mod my cars to please others. It even got the GF stamp of approval 'very neat, looks cool'. That's really the best you can hope for.

At the moment, no fancy lighting on the car until she's up and running. The only "fancy" thing I'll be doing is wiring the sidemarker to double as a turn signal as well to give the bubble it's original purpose. LEDs are planned though for later on down the road.

It would be for daily driver use, seems to be in really good shape for the age and price though. The trailer hitch on the back cracks me up. tongue.gif Guess it won't hurt to call and see it, but part of me questions how sensible it would be. Sure it's a Toyota so the quality and inherent reliability is there, but it's still 39 years old.
