Today this happened:

Actually drives better than I thought it would, or remember from my father's Z28. It's weird having power with a stick shift though. tongue.gif

Thanks everyone, it's kind of surreal after wanting one for so long. The fact it's exactly what I wanted in one makes it even better. Turns out I'll be the third owner on it, the one I bought it from was the second owner who's owned it since 2005. Has all of the manuals and brochures and even has the "Pontiac Roadside Assistance" tagplate with it still, I wonder if the number is still good. laugh.gif It needs a few things here and there like the radio and rear hatch struts, but it's all original and seems well maintained though.

A shame the pop up headlights have such terribly tiny sealed beams, nearly useless lights. Be careful at night!

Funny you mention that, I'm actually looking for solutions right now. So far I've come across a H4 conversion that has a clear glass lense and a glare shield/reflector over the bulb. Will trawl through LS1Tech later and see what's been proven to work well.

I intend to keep it for some time, cheap GM plastic aside I really like it. I'm more than content with the stock performance, though I might get Strano springs with Koni struts/shocks and change the muffler but that'd be about it. On the way back took highways instead of the interstate and there were some curvy mountain roads and it did better than I expected, sure it was only at the speed limit but it felt well planted. That and the brakes surprised me too, I remember them being mushy garbage on my father's Z28 but these are nice and firm throughout the pedal travel.

Yup you're right the heavy hatch could hit me on the head, far too dangerous so better play it safe. tongue.gif This weekend I'll do a wash and wax and get better pictures, if not earlier in the week. Also no burnout videos though, sorry. What I can do for you though is a video of me granny shifting it on the way to the bingo hall. laugh.gif

Woo Supra almost done!

He's not even JDM enough to sleep on the other side of the car.

Funny you should say that. My first nap was on the other side; sandwiched between both Supras. This one was my second.
