lol. rocking that bed head 24/7/365 all day e'ryday. I had just got off the phone with a friend of mine trying to figure out how those damn fender spacers were used and how to get my exterior moldings on the proper way.

Paid for my custom tap-turn for the Mazda. He says he can make a harness for one to work in the Celica with it's 3 pin...hmm...maybe later this summer.
Vacuum pump comes tomorrow, way early, air filter (AEM Dryflow) and PAG46 oil on Wednesday. Then I can borrow my friends gauge set and change the condenser then suck the air out before it spoils the desiccant in the new dryer and contaminates the oil in the system, see if it holds vacuum or not (hoping it does well enough) and then when the weather is good take it to work and charge it up! I got a leak detector for $16 that's coming in soon too. My AC will be ice cold and efficient once again. -------------------- |

Ice cold A/C is the best thing ever. So after looking these seem like the best lighting solution for the money: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EATLUE...011&sr=8-13

Yes, but get some higher wattage H4 lamps and run a relay harness.
http://store.candlepower.com/64205.html A pair of those with heavier wiring and some relays to feed direct power should light the road right enough...but you still have pretty narrow light at night. -------------------- |

Well anything that's a notable improvement over the sealed beams would be a nice addition. That's ok, checking how bad the headlamps were I was reminded that all of the gauges and instrumentation lighting in the Formula and T/A is bright red from the factory...

Yeah my brother, owner of the car lot behind the Firebird, has been pushing me to change out the exhaust already since the factory setup apparently isn't loud enough. Thinking might change out the factory muffler for a Spintech since everyone does the SLP Loudmouth or a FlowMaster 40 on these cars, that and I've never really liked FlowMaster as it seems like every car I've been in with one does nothing but drone. I will have to do the headlamp upgrade though as what's there now is just terrible, the Celica spoiled me with its optics. Oh and I need to find a radio installation kit so I can put in my stereo. Also been thinking about doing Strano springs with Koni struts and shocks, but it scrapes bad enough as it is... Never once scraped the Celica or Miata but just pulling out of their driveway, slowly, for the test drive it scraped then it scraped two or three times on the way home... It'll need tires in the next 10,000 or so miles so trying to decide on what to do there too, stay with the 16's and try to find a good performance tire or go up to 17's and have plenty of performance tires to choose from. There are a few factory 17" rims from WS6 Formulas/Trans Ams and SS Camaros, but really haven't looked into what's out there in terms of aftermarket options.

Magnaflow bro. Or the Walker Dynomax VT, they have a flapper doodle inside that opens up at fuller throttle but stays closed to kill cruising drone and keep it quiet the rest of the time.

Ye I was thinking about the MagnaFlow XL muffler since it's sounded so good on everything it's been used on, but it's only about $20 less than the SpinTech now ever since they increased their prices last year. After thinking about it being it only churns 1,200 rpm at 55 mph drone shouldn't be too much of an issue with any muffler. MagnaFlow does occasionally do a 20% discount through Amazon so I guess will keep an eye out there.

Who the hell drives 55?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131584371789?_trks...K%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Install that, hilarity will ensue. It's ****ing awesome. I put one on my GF's 16 Escape and when she honks at assholes it's priceless. Texting at the red light when it turns green? HOOOONK! their ****ing phone goes flying out of their hands as they jump and panic. Trying to cut her off in traffic? HOOOONK! Everyone around her slams on their brakes, asshole trying to cut in gets cock blocked and almost rear ends the person they're tailgating. -------------------- |

Not Sammy Hagar? A lot of the roads around here are state and county highways that have a maximum speed limit of 55 mph, it's only the interstates that go to 70 mph. Even then at 70 it's only at 1,600 rpm, far cry from what I'm used to. Oh and I was wrong on prices, it's only a $10 difference. I will go and take a look at Dynomax and a few others to see what they have to offer.
150 decibels, damn. Yeah with that I imagine even 80 year old men in Buicks with more hair in their ears than on their head could hear you. Not sure where I'd fit it into the Firebird though. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

It'll fit, if it fit the 7G celica and the 16 Escape it'll fit yours, tons of room up in that big long nose.

Thanks. I really like it, it's the lowest mileage and owner car I've owned and it's not freaking red or white.
Now if only I could ever figure out what muffler to get we'll be good to go. I keep hearing mixed things on a lot of them, most are being said to not really be any louder than the factory muffler if the rest of the system is stock. I'm sure as hell not about to remove the cats, I like my car not reeking and/or headache inducing. Supposedly the only way to get more volume on an otherwise stock setup is to use a straight through MagnaFlow or the like, opposed to all the baffled mufflers. I guess I'll go and look into the straight through MagnaFlow and Dynomax mufflers now. This post has been edited by Box: Mar 10, 2016 - 5:23 PM -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Yes. And you do need to mind the drone, it's not just the RPM but the engine load too. You can drone at 1500 RPM at highway cruise and not drone at 1500 parked. Magnaflow have a 'break in period' which lasts up to a year, mine took about 6-8 months of driving to end up where it's now and where it should stay through it's life. It's a little louder than new but not bad, has more voice and throat to it than when new. So when listening to clips of new systems, bear that in mind!

That's true, but on the trip home it never really seemed to be under much load. The MagnaFlow straight through my brother used on his Maxima was like that, got louder and deeper as it broke in. To an extent the MagnaFlow XL on his Genesis did the same.
So far I've found these that're direct fit: https://www.holley.com/products/exhaust/muf.../parts/50363FLT http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/?page_id...egory=0&kw= https://www.magnaflow.com/products?partNumber=12265 The other option being use a universal single inlet and dual outlet then having something fabbed by the muffler shop to connect the passenger side tailpipe/tip. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed
