Lol. It be ok to star to set a date

In the next couple of weeks, we'll start a thread and start discussing dates. When does your schedule come out?

I'm hoping that I can have this one done in the next few weeks, so I don't see why it shouldn't be at a spring meet. wink.gif

I'm surprised it isn't finished yet! laugh.gif

Here I am... lol

I've made some progress in the last few weeks, and we're essentially down to the home stretch.

What we're probably going to show up in:

I've gotten lazy again, but I really do want to get the car done for this meet. It may still be two colors when I roll in, or I may just redirect the meet to my house for an install day laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

All that's really left is to unbolt the subframe from the Lily v.1 and roll the entire engine set over to Lily v.2 for installation. Then I need to get a windshield in it.

And maybe replace the dash, so that I have airbags again....

Simple stuff, I'm just lazy.

Comfortable cars, but the few I've touched seemed like the would be damn expensive for maintenance, just for a car.

They're really not that bad. Doing the timing belt kind of sucks but it's RWD so there's more room than a Celica to work with. They have a little more suspension going on up front with double wishbone and the upper ball joints tend to wear out around 90-100K (and the lowers not long after) but again, not hard parts to replace just can be costly for the uppers since the joint is part of the arm.

Just from doing alignments on them, you think that for the money you spent on that car it should have adjustments for front camber/caster & rear camber, not just front & rear toe. They make you buy offset bushings (from Lexus) if caster needs adjustment. Unless I got my Lexus suspensions mixed up, call me dumb.

Well unless the suspension is sagged or badly worn or the car has been hit then caster should still be about where caster was when it left the factory.

The car takes 8 QTS of oil each change, but other than that, I really have no complaints.

The car is still badged Toyota in Japan, so if things go out, I can buy Toyota replacements, not Lexu$$$$$.

I LOVE it for a daily. It's super comfortable, and I'm doing my best not to modify it.

If those are the original HID bulbs in that thing they're way past worn out and about as bright as halogen. RockAuto usually has some HID bulbs on stupidly low priced closeout, like $30 a bulb for genuine stuff not Chinese crap.
