Magnaflow makes a nice single in dual out for years of Camaro that would probably be a direct fit.

Ye the MagnaFlow I linked to is like one of a few they offer in various inlet and outlet sizes for the F-body. Will have to try looking for more videos on YouTube, but the issue becomes finding some that only changed the muffler. Apparently everyone seems to think they need to remove the cats... rolleyes.gif

Sadly. Those with imports are just as guilty as removing them, at least around here. Trucks are the worst though, nothing like cheap HID's in crappy DOT reflector housings coming towards you at eye level and then adding insult to injury getting covered in soot.

Hey, in my defense I picked out headlight housings without too much trouble. tongue.gif Plus I was rather decisive about buying the Firebird after seeing it. I need a little indecision to balance myself out. laugh.gif

Found out why aftermarket mufflers really aren't any louder, came across this picture of one of the mufflers cutaway and it's really not much different from any aftermarket 3-chamber muffler:

I'm thinking maybe get a small Y-pipe then put a small bullet muffler behind each tip.

The Magnaflow I have on the Celica has two pipes on one side, when I looked into it with a flash light it's a big perforated U bend pipe inside the canister. I imagine the Magnaflow for a Camaro is similar?

Here's MagnaFlow's Camaro/Firebird O.E. replacement muffler: https://www.magnaflow.com/products?partNumber=12266

Based on the illustrated cutaway it's way better than the original one:

Being it's a little under $120 that's not too bad being it'd be a direct fit.

laugh.gif That's great, reminds me of when I was in marching band.

So I did a quick wash&wax with Griot's, and in typical fashion it started raining after I was done. I said screw it and took pictures anyway, will post them once done uploading. Also messed with the radio some and the factory Monsoon 10 speaker system sounds pretty good, shame the display is dead. That's ok from what I can find it's a 4-ohm system aside from the two rear speakers in the hatch that're 2-ohm and powered seperately, so I should be able to use my stereo without too much issue.

Probably just a bad back light, likely can replace that once you take the radio open.

Not bad for just a wash&wax. Also yes, I know I need a bigger sun shade.

I think it's completely dead as it's a LCD so there should be something there even with the lights off, I was going to look if maybe there's a common issue with solder joints or the like.

You can check if it's a bad back light by shining a bright light at the display, if you can make out anything like LCD segments that are darker or lighter than the rest then it's working but has no back light. Even if you can't fix the one on the board you can just shove anything in there to shine light on the back of the display well enough. A simple 12V red LED or red LED strip with a lil bit of milk carton to diffuse the light would work fine, can wire it to the ign and ground at the radio and shove the wires through a hole in the case.

Just checked with a LED flashlight and it's as dead as a doornail. Guess will get a kit to put the stereo I have into it, which is fine since it has auxilliary, USB, etc... That and it has custom colour so should get the buttons and display to match the rest of the interior lighting fairly well.

Swapped my AC condenser finally! Broke off two studs but it's fine, had new ones. Nuts were rusted from 10mm hex to 9mm circle almost! Got the system pulled to vacuum, I'll draw vacuum again tomorrow night to make sure it's held and all the moisture is out, and then at some point recharge it. I may just go by pressures instead of weight as I'll get close enough and I can do it at home. The scale on the machine at work is a little funky anyway.

Over the weekend:

So the car is about 95% done. Still waiting on some clips to arrive from Jay-pan.

Things I still need to take care of by Friday:
-Readjust driver's side window. It's not completely sealing with the targa top.
-Replace driver's door lock cables.
-Fix my audio issue with radio. Sound is faint even when cranked at full volume.
-Re-run/change up my intake set-up as my new intercooler piping won't allow the old set-up to be happy with how it was. Currently borrowed my friend's intake set-up to get her home.

Re-did the audio wiring. Could still use a bit more of a clean-up, but not bad for how it came out.

Back seat all back in

#blackintercoolerlivesmatter. The eBay China pipes I got to go with the core fit pretty well surprisingly enough.

Getting ready for her maiden voyage to another friend's house. lol

And the money shot:

I think she needs side skirts to complete the look.

But yeah, that's where she is now. It was an awesome feeling getting to drive her again after 4.5 months. I was cackling my *** off as I was leaving my friend's neighborhood.
