I'm guessing it was something like Purple Power or Mean Green? For some reason it reminds I need to get around to detailing the Firebird's engine bay, which I always do it by hand versus spraying it with water anyway but that's more so important with the Opti-Spark and what not.

It's even better when the ricers drive trucks... I wish I were a cop at times, I'd hand out tickets left and right. One thing that's helped me is wearing yellow tinted shooting glasses, cuts the glare and intensity down a fair amount without making everything else harder to see.

I think one of the worst thing "truck enthusiast" do is put on truck testicles. Seriously I saw some on my way to work yesterday and thought the guy driving it had to be a massive douche.

Also really hate the Toyota facebook groups. Some of the questions there are stupid and the people there aren't great. Don't get me wrong thers some cool people on there but most of the people on there just say " Wat kind of weelz can I put on mah corolla."

It makes me want to ask them if their truck nuts are modeled after their boyfriend's. laugh.gif Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I bet it'd get their goat so it'd totally be worth it.

I hate facebook in general and most car groups too. It's so hard to find car people that aren't fanboys, it just irks me regardless of whatever niche they're in. This is why I need another Miata or a MR2, then I can play devil's advocate as the situation requires. tongue.gif Besides, can never have too many popup light cars. biggrin.gif

Test drove a 2004 LS430, 2007 G37, and 2011 GTI this weekend. I've driven these before but only for short distances, I wanted the chance to wring them out a bit. The LS430 is lovely and I consider it to be a cheap S-class. They have aged well to me, save for the nav, but otherwise has really nice features (cooled seats, heated rear cup holders, rear power shade). Extremy comfortable but the transmission doesn't respond well even manually, and it kills the smooth delivery of the motor. If this came in manual I'd be sold, but everything like that is more expensive, or German, or both.

The G37 was pretty fun. Their manuals are pretty tight, clutch pickup is pleasant too. I would go so far as to call this the Japanese 3-series, although the engines are different beasts and the Infinitis seem more reliable save for interior wear. The GTI was a hoot because it had straight pipes from at least the cats back, no mufflers, and what I surmise to be a honking big aftermarket turbo. Boost didn't really come until wait for it, wait for it, okay 5k and we're doing 80 in 3rd. Obnoxious and about as DD-friendly as a rickshaw.

I've been considering an LS430 or an LS460 as a replacement for the Accord in the next year or so.

If for some reason I had to get a newer sedan *shivers* it'd probably be the G37 or the IS250 with a manual. If money were no concern it'd be a SS or CTS-V with a manual. tongue.gif

If you're the type that likes to bang it in drive and go I can't think of any better value for money. 430 seems to be 8-13k, that's cheap (in respect) to me. Water pump is an engine-out procedure and the front suspension joints and bushings are brittle, those are really the only issues I know of. I think they like to eat window regulators too.

The transmission on the car I drove took a full two seconds to two-three shift. No trace of a hurry.

I don't think you pull the engine to do the WP, we've done them in car when doing the belt/tensioner job.

I have only read a handful of maintenance threads and I picked that up somewhere, but I'd trust your judgment as I'm not informed.
