ok go ahead and look at C-One celica rally vs Integra Type R techno pro spirits on BEST Motoring both cars received a 10ps bump in power. to me it seems the ECU is only there to manage whatever parts are bolted on or added to engine as long as you don't open it up and mess with cams/timing and compression ratio when you have a N/A build. turbo on the other hand is a different story. the C-One rally team and Techno Pro Spirits are well known tuning companies in japan. so you saying a very smart tuner can squeeze a lot out of the motor is not believable. If you've watched best motoring, the show always leans towards honda builds, B, K and F series motors. so you know the tuning companies, which build the engines quite well, don't withhold power(even though they do with toyota featured vehicles when it comes to internal components). the Integra type r from that video does have the valve seats ported from factory by hand, because i've seen the integra type r video featured on Best motoring, just saying. 2K$ ecu is something like motec. I know you can get a AEM unit here in the states for $850 if im not wrong plus the tune. So you saying 20-30whp from a tune alone is not possible with simple bolt on's. even the ITB from 4age on beams redtop has only seen a 20hp increase from numbers posted on MR2 board beams sub forum so yea need some proof sir... to prove whatever knowledge i have as wrong. I never know when you post, if you are legitimately asking a question for your own learning or just fact checking me. also, we are in the states, lets use WHP. watching best motoring you are only ever really applying loose theories based off of other cars/engines tuning and performance results, not all 4 bangers are the same. first hand is the best hand. Alot of people perceive that tuning is some sort of dark magic that only bearded 90yr old men in japan know how to do. Im not speaking as a person who knows alot of the process but I know that (and am not lessening the genius of some of those top tuning companies) there are other people who can tune as good if not better than those people. I never said that a 30whp gain isnt possible from an ECU upgrade to compliment bolt ons. It would most defintely get up there if not more. I was speaking about an OEM engine configuration. That a tuner might be able to get an additional 30whp out of the motor with some more aggressive tactics in the tuning process as the BEAMS runs pretty rich. Yes 2K is like Motec or Haltech. A good AEM ecu like the infinity is around $1500 IIRC. MY opinion on ECU's is that I would want a product that has been proven and that has a large support base. And Motec/Haltech/AEM are the front runners. Yeah YOU could get a LINK ecu or the like for probably $600 or so, but I wont. If you have any basic tuning knowledge, you're aware that Toyotas (and especially the BEAMS) are tuned to run pig rich. Lean it out safely and run slightly more aggressive timing and you'll see immediate gains. There's a very popular saying in tuning, "lean is mean." Too lean is dangerous, of course, but the BEAMS has plenty of room for improvement. Not to mention the Redtop was tuned to always assume the MAF is sitting in the stock intake, causing power loss and issues running if you use any other intake. A simple standalone allows us to start modifying the BEAMS. Is it cheap? Not necessarily, but the BEAMS factory ECU holds the motor back significantly. Can't learn everything from watching Best Motoring videos on YouTube. Gotta look into other resources too. There are alot of ECUs that will be able to support all the BEAMS functions, it would be a great mod for anyone that wants to keep an OEM engine config, and just pump it up a bit more. But there are hiccups that come with standalones, and I have yet to really figure out if they are as reliable as a stock ECU. I have heard they can be This post has been edited by richee3: Jun 30, 2016 - 1:57 PM -------------------- 1995 GT::::Diffusing the Situation エキサイティングカーレーシングチーム! march 2010 COTM : 6GC feature 2014 : january 2015-2016-2018 COTM |

ha when do i ever come off as being offended at the slightest things.
yes i know. i did the many intake mods with the AEM fuel/air gauge ratio thingamajig brosefina. yes i read about that they are not as reliable and can't adhere to all weather conditions as good as a stock ecu. but when's its only your weekend warrior shouldn't be an issue. but honestly the 2zz was built say 1.5 years after the vvti redtop. so my guess is the air/fuel ratio are the same as a the beams dual vvt-i. the guy is from panama. i guess he tried to hydroplane across the canal and hydrolocked the engine. so he bought a altezza motor and made it fit into his ST chassis. well anyway i guess this is going no where. so yea bye now but like C-One is to Toyota as Spoon is to Honda. can it get any better?? almost test mounted the hood yesterday but found out it uses 6mm 1.0 bolts....had to go out and get some later
got some 4x4 blocks cut to help hammer in the new studs, I decided to hammer them in so they dont rotate like they might if I were to use an impact and pull them through. I am going to test torque them so I am sure they wont slip and make me cut off my wheels if they did taking steps to rejuvenating my windscreen, giving this product a go to see if it can get rid of the years of wiper marks -------------------- 1995 GT::::Diffusing the Situation エキサイティングカーレーシングチーム! march 2010 COTM : 6GC feature 2014 : january 2015-2016-2018 COTM |

Bitter was telling me about CarPro Essence, still waiting to hear personal results but the thread he shared on AutoGeek had some impressive results. If the glass polish works as well as their Essence it should turn out pretty well.

If the glass polish works as well as their Essence it should turn out pretty well. Carpro Poducts are pretty renowned in the detailers community. I had always assumed that their products were super pricey but they are very affordable What pads are u using? Are u doing it manual? The red side is hook n loop, the other side is the wool. Im using my porter cable buffer. They say it can be done manually but, I can only see that work on light marring. did some naughty things this weekend I am a little less than pleased with this aspect of the hoods fitment. It seems to bubble in shape more than the OE hood. I am going to try and minimize that game as much as possible. Hopefully once its painted it wont seem as large too. successfully made it to the body shop without the good flying off (the aerocatch pins were not installed as I wasnt able to get them angled correctly before my appointment to drop the car off) -------------------- 1995 GT::::Diffusing the Situation エキサイティングカーレーシングチーム! march 2010 COTM : 6GC feature 2014 : january 2015-2016-2018 COTM |

That is strange, it's almost like the carbon fiber wasn't all the way down into the mould when it was epoxied. Hopefully the body shop is able to work some magic on it.

Interesting, I guess the goal is to reduce underhood pressurization?

Adds hp

Interesting, I guess the goal is to reduce underhood pressurization? Adds hp Yes. No. My plan is to eventually get some slim fans, make some ducting from the radiator and make up a underpanel for as much of the front underside as possible. The bumper will also be ducted to the radiator as well so that all air coming in will go through the radiator and up out of the hood. Thus. Downforce and better cooling efficiency. Also am considering selling my Gramlights to fund an EMS. I have narrowed down the options to Haltech Elite and AEM Infinity At first I was set on the Haltech but I have been told by a few people that the AEM is a better unit to work with -------------------- 1995 GT::::Diffusing the Situation エキサイティングカーレーシングチーム! march 2010 COTM : 6GC feature 2014 : january 2015-2016-2018 COTM |

AC has been long gone.
The doggy panel is too heavy and doesnt cover up enough of the underside. I am going to cut a giant panel of Alumalite for as much of the front underside I can fit. Then do a section for the middle of the car that will fill the gap between the front underside section and the beginning of the rear diffuser. will probably add a couple naca ducts for the trans just like the OE under plastics have -------------------- 1995 GT::::Diffusing the Situation エキサイティングカーレーシングチーム! march 2010 COTM : 6GC feature 2014 : january 2015-2016-2018 COTM |

I was always anti AEM my whole life until I opted for the AEM v2 meth kit. I must admit, AEM makes some damn good stuff. Ive read a lot of positive things on the Infinity
