Totally breaking stuff slowly rolling out from a stop and shifting at a mind numbing 2,000-2,500 rpm. laugh.gif I'm dead serious which is what's sad. I do know someone that could use a car since their Jeep has three feet in the grave and the last one on a banana peel, but they can't drive stick to save their life.

Looking around Amazon trying to find some 5000K COB LEDs in 561 and 214-2 for interior lights, it's funny they're the same price or cheaper than halogen replacements.

I'll ask but distance is the biggest issue.

Don't think I'll get my 2.5rs bumper for my Subaru. The guy has been pricing shipping and says it's expensive. Instead of doing that before selling me the item he just sold it to me to an agreed upon price. I've been patient with him but it's starting to wear thin. I told him if it just ends up being too much just refund me my money. I know shipping parts sucks but if you agree to sell something at a certain price then you should keep your word and take the hit. I've done that where my shipping ended up being more than I thought and ended up losing money but I kept my word and took the hit. Oh well I guess I'll just see what happens tomorrow.

That figures... I know a bumper is rather bulky, but weight should be low and shipping it through FedEx or UPS shouldn't be that big an ordeal. Hopefully it works out for you.

Also Bitter, how cheap is cheap? Of course it's entirely up to them, but in my honest opinion the Corolla would be better than a worn out Cherokee that needs money sunk into it constantly.

Thanks, will pass it along. If they want it and are up for the drive I'll let you know.

I found some COB LED strips meant to be daytime running lights, I think they might make great puddle lights. tongue.gif

The drl strips? I don't feel bothered enough to do puddle lights but here recently my brother did footwell lighting with some SMD strips that come on with the map/dome lights, and it'd be easy to tie in another strip on the door for a puddle light so thought since they were COB they might do a better job.

I think I found what I want to use for my map lights and the dome light. Will have to measure since I imagine space inside the rear view mirror is tight, but I found some ceramic 42mm COB festoons that'll fit no problem and the other are 42mm COB panel festoons that are 17mm wide. All the 44mm loop end COB festoons look the same no matter the "brand" or seller. Anyhow they seem to look ok as far as crap off eBay/Amazon goes:

I'm going to tell you now that all of those will be substantially more blue than you expect when you compare them to OEM stuff, if you're OK with 7000K white then go for it. It's not bad, just usually catches most people off guard.

I was really wanting close to 5000K, I guess maybe need to go with SMD then? I know the SMD lighting my brother used is definitely in the 5000-6000K range, was thinking COB would work better though for the given applications.

Saying COB or SMD means nothing, it's the quality of the parts that matters. It's like saying it's a Ranch is better than a Split Level, really neither is true it's the quality of construction. There's TONS of cheap **** products out there, you may need to buy several before you find something you like. I know I have. I'll link to some stuff later on when I've got time, but there's some "brands" which have consistent quality.

Glad to hear you're getting the bumper.

I know it's just the layout of the diodes but I noticed it seems like the same one or two COB type for sale everywhere, whereas there's a much bigger variety with SMD types not only in arrangement but colour temperature. Then again COB and MCOB are still fairly new I guess. I tried poking around on LS1Tech, but I need to do some more in depth searching.

Went and looked at a 2007 Impreza Wagon. Nice car, in good shape, no rust. Only issue is it sounds like it needs a shifter cable. Thinking about buying it though.

Second or third generation? Third generation looks fairly spiffy.

2nd Gen. I actually prefer the look of these over the 3rd personally. It's not a WRX or STi though because I'm not made of money lol. And very unfortunately it's auto, but otherwise it's a nice car.

That's right, forgot about the last year or two of the second gen being different. If only it wasn't automatic though, I'd imagine being a non-turbo AWD wagon the manual probably makes a notable improvement. Even though I'm no speed demon it's aggravating when your foot is going through the floorboard and it's still not going anywhere.

Yes buy it! I love the hawkeye. My favorite of the GD bodies. Even with an auto I would still think it would be fun. I love my Outback Sport. Buy it and join the subaru culture. There's a lot you can do to personalize and make your subaru your own.
