If I had to get a sedan it'd be a 6-speed G35/37, hopefully you can find one that has everything you want.

If I had to get a sedan it'd be a 6-speed G35/37, hopefully you can find one that has everything you want. Thanks. I think you might be the only enthusiast I've heard of that's more picky than me. One will turn up eventually, and I'm in no rush, but they're all beat up or high mileage or automatic at the moment. for me I don't prefer cars unless its a 2 door, if I need a 4door I like taller vehicles which is why i have the 4runner and tacoma I like the Celica and the useful hatch, but I've decided that if I am going to carry two extra seats then I want the doors to go with. Similarly, any two-door should only be a two-seater, and I've got that covered. I want something quicker and more comfortable than the Celica too, longer wheelbase. The VQ sounds sweet, is torquey and reliable, and the gearbox is decent. The Taco and 4Runner are great cars, but are the two together not a little redundant? Unless they are different periods. Lol yeah I'm kind of particular with cars, but over time I've tried to broaden that to at least any two door with values desired by driving enthusiasts. Looking back I liked the Celica and even the Miata more than what I said I had at the time. Anyhow the right car will come along and it's well worth the wait, I on and off looked for a 6-speed hardtop Firebird or Trans Am for years and then one day mine came up for sale and it was a two owner car in good shape with low miles. But yeah the VQ family of motors is really good except for the first year or two of the VQ35DE that liked drinking oil. Good power, torquey, and reliable pretty much sum them up otherwise. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Indeed, and I forgot to mention 2007-2008 only for the newer styling and HR motor. This is why I can't find anything. Tried to burp the new rad but the fans never came on so no success. Maybe bad t-stat, I was getting no heat. I know the fan connections are good but I'll have to go over it again tomorrow. It continues...I'm one slow mech. Thank **** for a back-up car.

i guess you can test the t-stat by boiling it or just getting a feel for the hoses upper and lower.

Fans turned on just fine on a shake-down, seems to run well again. I did not check if heat works. Hub bearing noise turned out to be just a loose axle nut.

Today I sewed up my leather steering wheel cover and it only took me 6 hours which I think is a bit less than others say it took them.
The laces don't always look perfect but it Feels Great! Then I went to the salvage yard and found a stock intake air hose. I've always ran a metal one attached to the factory air-box but I don't want that to get me bumped up from Street/Stock into a modified class for my first Autocross tomorrow. And they are calling for rain, which will give me an advantage over the Miatas and RX7's -------------------- Bust a Deal; Face the Wheel.

Let's see, today I swapped out my old, crusty, 21 YO front LCA bushings with some bright red poly ones and installed TwosRUs front endlinks.
Yesterday, I removed my front and rear hubs and took them - along with new bearings - to a machine shop to have them pressed in. Should be done by Monday. Then I replaced my ball joints and outer tie-rods with Moog components. Tomorrow, I'll be doing a bunch of little, naggy things. Adjusting idle speed (had to make a spacer for the throttle cable connection at the pedal), securing my pass. door speaker (it's been moving/squeaking), and hopefully replacing my driver side door handle - found a perfect match at the junkyard. Mine looks like a drunk, old man tried to unlock the door one too many times. I'm one slow mech. Thank **** for a back-up car. I like think I'm just taking my time In my case, thank **** for a decent bicycle and living close to things. I like that too, but there are few cars that should be red and that is not one of them. I can imagine why they gave you ****, but the G is so much better of a driver's car than the IS, though that has more style. Engine is finally out. Didn't look to shabby. Will post it for sale or give it away when the time comes. Next step, looking into degreasing and repainting the bay.

Refurbished ST205 frame rails and crash bar, cleaned fogs, converted LHD to ST205 Latch, Bumper and Hood in the shop for paint. Waiting to score a front lip, already have the clear ST205 turns and side markers.

today i somewhat got my 500 dollar 94 celica running, coilovers are in, wheels and tires are on, it drives straight. I am trying to address the other small things that are wrong and what is getting on my nerve is that the privacy cover in the trunk, well it doesnt have the clips that hold it down and i cant seem to find them anywhere. Does anyone have any for sale or know of a place i can get them? right now my privacy cover is sitting on top of the rear panels and everytime i hit bumps it rattles like theres no tomorrow. lol thanks!
