Everyone lay off Mike.

Just because he's doing crazy, extreme, unusual, wacky, almost stupid things to his car and he feels like he has to touch and modify just about every part on his car it doesn't mean we should make fun of him. It's his business to do whatever he wants, even if it makes other people sad.

LOL
thanks FRIEND

There is a piece that is available on rhdjapan that braces engine movement. Expensive but perhaps you can make ine yourself, every little bit helps

yeah an engine torque damper. That thing is way overpriced. But would be a neat addition. If I could find a damper I would definitely make one. Probably could even scavenge one from another car makes piece

Like I said before
6GC is like 85% purists. I am in that 15% lol

Im not one to care what people think so critique away. Im still going to do hood rat **** with my car. Its fun to do bad things
I myself knew going into making this diffuser that it would be very difficult to make it both visually appealing and to maximize (to the best of my 1st try DIY abilities) performance. I chose to go with performance, hence why if you noticed, there arent really any more pictures of the diffuser on here or anywhere really. Ive tried many angles and but its just not very photogenic.

I dont really plan to keep this on forever. Like I said in a previous post. This was literally just a snap decision after I broke the CF one. I do plan to make a fiberglass or CF diffuser in the future. But for now, I am going to mess around with this one to refine it a bit more. Winter time is the rest of the underbody so the diffuser will be purposeful

yall are just some scrubs...
and you know my policy on scrubs

thanks! Its good to see some old old school members still hanging around the site!

Im starting to dig a bit more into the supercharging plan.
At the moment I am focusing on figuring out details for the mounting of the SC, the tensioner, the belt size (w/l), and the crankshaft pulley.
Most of the rest will be much simpler to come by and do.

I have started talks with a member on the MR2 forums about his setup and have also found a few details of a 4AGE Rotrex kit setup that may or may not be produced still. From the companies website they say items can be purchased separately. I believe the bracket they make could be modified to fit the 3SGE, not sure yet, still in the speculation stage. I figured it would be cheaper that way than to have one made from scratch.

At the same time as this whole mod, I would like to do the MRS Electric power steering pump to be able to free some room down there. The way that the bracket below looks, it might have more spaces for things I probably wont use.

pics of the 4AGE setup

He sold it back in 2012/13.
The guy who bought it was trying to sell the kit in 2013 according to a thread on the forums. The last post said he was willing to take a loss on the kit, he needs it gone. That was the last Ive been able to find on it, and that member with the kit hasnt been back on the forums since 2013.

I am talking to the guy the kit originated from though.

Over the past month or so Ive been considering a small turbo over supercharging the BEAMS.

For the SC all my researching has been coming to dead ends and it seems more and more that I would have to be building it from scratch...which could happen but I dont really see the reason to for the same result a small turbo could give.

I was informed that the BlackTop Altezza exhaust manifold flange is the same as the rest of the BEAMS. Knowing this, I be be able to use a log turbo manifold from them. The only thing I am seeing from their setup is that the manifolds turbine flange is rotated upwards as opposed to the 3SGTE which is downwards. Id rather have it downwards as I dont think the turbo would clear my hood.

Still so much to think about. I never was really into turbos so I dont know alot of the details of the systems. So Ill have to do some learnin.

It would be nice to run one of those fancy BorgWarner EFR 6258

I can attest to Borg Warner transmissions at least. tongue.gif I think either it or maybe a ProCharger would complement the BEAMS, something that adds power lower down anyway since the BEAMS is so upper RPM based. I'm sure it's why Lotus chose to supercharge the 2ZZ-GE in the Elises, kind of round out the powerband some.

By all means do not turbo the beams. You will be going in uncharted territory where few sailors have navigated. Enjoy the beams. For a year or two. Go for a fourth gen swap and save yourself a headache. Start off with 250 hp with no headache. I decided to reswap instead of tuning the beams. At the end its what you think its best

There are plenty enough people who turbo'd the BEAMS, I wouldnt be too alone with the task. Not nearly as much as supercharging it.

You may have realized that I am not a fan of OE performance. I need to tinker. Therefore, although a 4th Gen WOULD get me to around the power band I want (and would probably be cheaper than turboing the BEAMS) I wouldnt want to drop in a stock motor to get to where I want to be. Id much rather mess with the BEAMS to pump it up a bit.

Who knows, that may change.

Like I said, this is all just thoughts and talk. I am in no place to be spending that much $ for the time being. There are a few more suspension bits I would like to clear up before I dig into a big power upgrade.

Ouch sorry to hear your not satisfied? didn't You jump in a swapped lift back before you decided beams? You have a pretty light chassis already with all your mods...

Did You recently ride in a k20 integra and realized, wow this power is satisfying?

If You can find a long block blacktop for $3-400, hybrid it with redtop and standalone ecu with cut down intake plenum like I mentioned to you before. Extra 30hp for $3000 roughly, with custom header. and No lag.

I think I just need to get on the track ASAP again. That would hold back my power desires for a little bit.

I drove Garins 3SGTE, it was nice power wise.
A K20 would be great to have purely for aftermarket support. It would probably be cheaper to swap that in and mod that than continue on with the BEAMS haha

Like I said above, Im just going to do maintenance odds and ends this winter. If I can a front splitter. Just going to focus on wear items that I will need spares of for the track.

finally got my hands on an MRS EHPS pump.
it WAS in good condition but upon picking the package up from UPS I found a giant hole one the side of the box and a piece of one of the mounting points fell out. UPS will no doubt be paying for the weld repair needed for that.

Probably going to weld some mounting points on to the RCR Strut Bar and mount it back there above the rear "axle". Unsure of what side though as I already have the battery on the passenger side.

Being electrohydraulic the idea being the pump for one isn't turned by the engine so that frees up power, and it's only activated when needed instead of effectively being used 100% of the time the engine is on which also contributes. Plus if you incorporate the speed assist at low speeds the pump is more active and lessens as vehicle speed increases so you can kind of get the best of both worlds of light steering at low speeds and heavier steering at high speeds. Another potential benefit is you can mount the pump lower and further back in the car improving center of gravity and weight balance somewhat.

Let me know how it goes with installing that and please make somewhat of a detailed process (mainly for the lines). Doing this in the alltrac in the future and will definitely help!
