I think I narrowed down to purple or green, with it green it reminds me of some of the old SAABs that were green with orange needles and text.

Well scratch it, I just double checked and apparently there's an orange and red overlay and the bulbs are white... Well guess it's a good thing I found that out prior, also what I get for assuming it was white bulbs with red covers...

Could amber it out I guess, since amber LEDs would overpower the red overlay:

Same redline as the 7A. lol

OPG is neat though.

amber won't 'over power' the red, it'll just be bright red/orange.

Here's where someone put in red LEDs and can see how it overpowered the orange:

Compared to mine with halogens:

Though I guess the photoshops I've been doing the red and orange bars shouldn't be as cleanly defined with LEDs. Just noticed the top one is from a LS car but it's pretty similar. I tried finding someone that has done amber in a stock cluster but no dice. It won't be amber amber, but I've noticed even the white halogen bleeds through a little so it should at least be some shade of orange.

Guess this would be a closer approximation if I used amber, I did an orange-red and bled through everywhere:

Actually a tad bit lower than the 7A if I recall correctly, but I never take it past 5,000 anyway since that's where power peaks and you land into the powerband on the next gear anyway. Not worth revving more than needed on a stock OHV motor, or at least to me it's not.

Brain blanked there for a second on OPG, indeed it's nice to have as is the actual coolant temperature gauge which both to me are something every vehicle should have. Oddly enough I think starting in '98 or '99 they went to dummy gauges for whatever reason.

tried watching the grand tour some, got a few minutes in and meh not tonight.

Took the Celica to work today cause it was 70, it's still about 60 out so a little bit ago I took the long way up to Walmart to grab some stuff and the slightly less long way back cause I was getting tired. I don't think I'll ever get tired of driving that car at night, those headlights are still mesmerizing.

Oh yeah that is out now isn't it, will have to check it out sometime soon.

I like driving at night provided no one else is out and about. I could have the most advanced lighting optics known to the automotive world or elsewhere and still wouldn't be entirely comfortable due to oncoming traffic, though what I've started doing in addition to looking to the side of the road I'll close my left eye as the car passes so it doesn't get blinded. Seems to help a good bit, especially if it's some asshole with eBay HIDs in their reflector housing.

I'm still trying to figure out the light bar thing, what a nightmare.

I ordered a horn for the Mazda like the Celica has, I'm going to replace the compressor and rewire the relay/fuse setup on it anyway so new stuff may as well go in too. I'm curious to see if the compressor can run the new and old horn at the same time to get me dual tone so it really will sound like a god damn train!

I want a set of Db D D# horns, the cacophony would definitely get attention.

Also watched the first episode of the Grand Tour via Amazon video on the PS4 and without giving anything away I'm impressed, honestly in my opinion it's better than Top Gear ever was or has been in a very long time and it's just the first episode. The filmwork and presentation is top notch, you can tell Amazon has gone all out no expenses spared. Somewhat ironically them leaving Top Gear is the best thing that could've happened to them and I bet there're some people over at the BBC sick to their stomachs right about now.

Finally took the time to remove the cowl piece to repair the washer fluid line and now it works great but need to use up what's in the reservoir and put in de-icer, just in time for Winter.

Ordered amber T10 5x5050 and amber T5 1x5050 bulbs, so that'll be fun and hopefully will work out well enough as planned. I noticed earlier when I flipped the lights on while testing the wiper fluid the halogen almost comes through as pinkish so I give it an 80% chance of success.

5050 for interior not exterior, they're not bright enough except maybe as plate lights.

I know, the T10 are for the gauge cluster and then the T5 are for the HVAC panel, light switch, and door handle bezels. tongue.gif

The goal is for orange/orange-red to take place of all the red gauge and interior accent lighting, I tested it again last night but flipping the radio colour from red to orange the orange was a lot more bearable. Which in my searching I came across the reason behind BMW using orange for their gauges and such is that through their research they found orange to be the easiest on eyes at night and the easiest to read.

I bought a used Rod Millen Motorsports front strut bar for the Celica for $150 shipped. Only solid bar that doesn't hit the brake reservoir but does need a special battery tie down thing which does not matter since I don't have a stock battery. I won't find out if I like it till spring, yay. Seller says it has a few dings, I may just paint the whole thing bright ****ing rustoleum red to do some contrast since I have nothing garish under my hood.

Guess they must already be salting the roads then? My brother painted the strut bar and coil plug cover for the Genesis with the regular Rustoleum spray enamel in teal and it's held up well as it's been a year or two now.

Consistently below 40F, summer tires are too hard to get up to working temps and I need sticky tires.
