Wooo heat management.
I hate those days where you feel like there's absolutely no purpose in continuing existence, that no matter what you'll never be happy so what's the point... Chronic depression sucks, the fact nothing helps(seems to be a recurring theme for me) also sucks. I'm more chemically imbalanced than a pharmaceuticals truck that's just rolled over. See I can make jokes about it so it's ok.. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Money, you can't take it with you so enjoy it while you have it by spending it all. Exactly. That's why I like spending the bank's money! It's like there's a 4Runner club starting up here or something. Because 4Runners are BA. If I had to get a SUV for some unconceivable reason unknown to myself it'd probably be a 4Runner, that or a FJ Cruiser. Probably the FJ Cruiser, you could get them with a manual at least.

I just don't like being so high off the ground, ironically to most I'm more comfortable driving something much smaller and lower to the ground. Even after having to drive the Durango for such a long time frame I was never comfortable driving it. They're just not for me. That said I still think they, along with trucks, can be cool in their own way.
The FJ is like the Japanese equivalent of the Jeep Wrangler in that regard, except for at least the FJ isn't the only Toyota worth buying whereas the same can't be said for the Wrangler. ![]() -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

By a wide margin, yes. It really dressed up the car more and flows with all my little accents.

I'm off in a little bit to drill some holes in some stumps and try lighting them on fire, here's to hoping it works as easy as it looks in the youtube videos!

I'm going to pull a Bocks here and tell you to put some conditioner on those seats.

It won't help, you're seeing the worn out vinyl sides and the driver side outer bolster coating is just cracked. Coated leather does that when the top coat gets broken from flexing, and being coated leather nothing really soaks in to condition it. The 7th gen didn't come with the best nicest leather to begin with, at some point the seat will need to be redone, it's not high on my list of things to get done considering the cost to benefit ratio. Look....I fart on these things, they don't need to be pretty. I have gone over the seats extensively with Lexol, rubbing and massaging it into the leather for hours till my hands were tired, heating the leather up with a hair dryer so it'll take the lotion into the grain and so on and so forth, all the tricks, and you know what? Once I wipe them down clean they look the ****ing same as they did before I started and feel the same too.

Even coated leather is semi-permeable, at the very least even if it were completely impermeable it'd benefit from being cleaned and having protectant applied to keep the coating itself nice. I'm not sure about the Audi, and I suspect it's coated as well, but it benefited greatly from being cleaned and having conditioner applied numerous times.
Of course the simple solution to all of this is to go with my preference, cloth. Well there's your problem, Lexol sucks. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

That's the opposite of what I read on a bunch of detailing forums, they all said Lexol was the best over the counter product. The cleaner is simple and ph neutral and won't damage leather at all and the conditioners were also gentle and balanced and won't cause any problems with the dye or dry the leather over time like petroleum based products will do.

We had tried Lexol first based on how wonderful it was supposed to be and it was crap, cleaner didn't really clean that well and the conditioner always left a slimy feeling. The Meguiar's Gold Class cleaner and conditioner worked infinitely better. Could vary from leather to leather but that was the case with the Audi.

Meg's gold class in a black spray bottle? I found it to be very thin and slippery greasy feeling, made a better tire dressing I thought!

Yep but it was two different bottles, one was the cleaner and one was the conditioner. Not the one where they're combined.
Drove mom back from the body shop, just shy of $3,000 in hail damage to the Challenger. Surprisingly the roof was the worst of it, figured the hood being aluminum would've been worse but she was driving through it so that could be part of it. Speaking of the aluminum hood, I find that an odd decision on the Challenger of all cars... -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed
