So I just bought a 6gen..
I was looking for one for months now but it was either a really nice looking one for way to much, usually didn't even have low miles or a really ugly one.. well I kinda found and In between. I got a black gt hatch with 16x miles and it drives great. Only thing is paint is pretty faded but it's all one color. Anyways I just have a few questions it's really noisy inside, is that common ? And just is there anything to look out for or any advice ? |

Congrats and welcome!
Our cars have alot of road noise due to being a 90s sports car. lol but some members on here have cut up dynamat or other noise cancelling materials and put it into their floors and doors to cut down on noise. Also, being a frameless window design and being 20+ years old, the seals might be old and worn adding wind noise to it as well. as for advice, just some things to look at. Take a look under the hatch and check for rust as well as the 3rd brake light and under the doors. those tend to rust out the most. Also, take a look at the radiator, if it's brown or starting to turn brown, change it out. other than that, you shouldn't have to worry about much, these cars are awesome and require very little maintenance. -------------------- *1997 Celica ST - 3SGE Greytop BEAMS *1977 Celica RA29 - Classic Cruiser *2005 Matrix AWD - dedded but still hanging around like a ghost 2019 Rav4 XLE Premium - Sports mode is fun. |

Welcome! Like mentioned if you want to reduce road noise putting in sound dampener throughout the car will go a long way.

What kind of sound dampening materials are used ? And as for rust we don't really get that wher I live |

This is what was used in my brother's Genesis, really nice quality and made a huge difference in interior noise. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed
