I remember something about using 2 stroke oil in fuel a few years back, something about cleaning injectors.

I know on some cars they idle up for A/C by inducing a vacuum leak, maybe some of the cleaner had gotten into the A/C idle up circuit? I remember the Celica did.

Today, I started buying replacement hardware for a few parts and pieces I salvaged from my parts bin over the weekend.

New brackets for the front bumper cover, I'm swapping on a Euro Spec one I have, new clips, bolts, and seal for a driver's side skirt, again parts I had in storage.

I've also added insurance for highOSilver, so I can get a plate and take it to the exhaust shop to have the new 3" exhaust bent.

Staying up all night looking after the twins while Erin gets some sleep. I get to sleep between 8am and 11am and then when I am lucky 12 - 3pm too. Thank god for energy drinks lol...

In car news, I bought some upgraded Whiteline Sway Bar End Links to replace my bent front links. I also bought some rears too to get it all done at once. Hopefully once moved into the new place I will be able to remove the front end off the Caldina, finally drain the coolant, install the thermostat, TRD radiator cap and top and bottom radiator hoses, replace the turbo -> TMIC pipe, install the new end links, change the oil and filter, get the TRD bumper painted and fitted to the car. Not liking my chances with only about an hour a day free which is usually used on showering and housework.... :L

None of that on the Mazda, just an IAC. I sucked the stuff in via the PCV which goes directly to two small chambers that bleed into the 4 intake ports at the head.

Not my manifold, this one has tumble valves and stuff, but the PCV ports and stuff are the exact same. It ensures that all cylinders get PCV equally and that it doesn't puddle oil in the intake manifold.

Hmmm, that's odd indeed then. Maybe was just a fluke of some sort induced by the cleaning, I mean it'd just be highly coincidental for it to be something else but I guess it could be.

it's all fine now, ran the AC driving around yesterday and coming home tonight, 95F ambient temp with a 100F heat index, 45F air out of the center vent at highway speed with the blower on high. It'll do a 50F drop from ambient or down to 45F, whichever comes first, not too shabby. If I were driving longer than 20 minutes at highway speed it'll actually get pretty crispy in the car with super dry cool air and I can turn the fan speed down. The Celica has ice cold AC too actually, and if I just close the driver vents, put the fan on high out the dash of the pass side it'll swirl round the cabin and blow gently an ice cold breeze from behind. Super awesome.

But the Prizm/Corolla had the BEST feature. A vent pointed right between the legs. Sadly the AC never stayed charged and the 'crotch vent' didn't flow nearly enough air. It was a GREAT idea, just needed better implementation. I could have added a tiny fan inside had I thought of it!

That was my favourite thing about the Celica, it had a vent in the lower dash and I'd have it directed to blow up my shorts. I think I miss that more than anything else. Time to sell the Firebird and get another Celica.

My mates corolla had one also, we always called it the **** cooler. Really helped in summer lol.

You wouldn't think it'd make that big a difference but it did, damn it why don't more cars have this... It seriously makes me want another Celica, just for that. laugh.gif My biggest issue with the Celica was it was on the brink of slow, had we gotten the SS-III or GT-Four over here it's what I'd have. Yeah yeah, most can swap but my body is beyond doing anything like that in a timely manner these days. I'd almost be more inclined to Pro-Charging a 5S but apparently the 5S likes to blow up under any kind of boost.

Actually I should've just bought that 1MZ swapped Celica that was for sale. I wonder if the Z32 has a lower dash vent...

I think I'd enjoy a 1MZ 5spd GT quite a bit actually, if I had the room for more cars it would be on my stable list. An early 7th gen Corolla with the 1.8, V6 6th gen, some kind of pickup truck, and my 2 current cars.

Box, found you a car!
https://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/cto/6168856371.html
I can fix the brake line, have it towed to where I work and we'll make it road ready for you to drive home.

Then over to my house and I'll build the bespoke wire harness and install the high wattage sealed beam conversion for parts cost so you can actually drive it at night.

Seems fairly clean, but I don't trust northern cars for obvious reasons. Would have to get it up on a lift and give a thorough inspection. Actually I'd LOVE a 5th gen All-Trac, even had looked for one at one point but it seems they're all project cars. I really like the 5th gen All-Trac aesthetically and obviously the 3S-GTE and AWD would be nice. A 1MZ swapped 6th gen with the E153 would be nice though, would have enough torque down low and power to drive like an old person and still get up to speed in a timely manner but then have the power for passing and romping when you want it. That and it should get into the high 20's low 30's mpg. Or just save a bunch of trouble and get a Z32, honestly the 222 hp or so in a 3,100 pound car is enough for me. Plus now they have drop in LS swap kits, or you can Pro-Charge the VG30DE if you ever want more power. I dunno, I still like the Firebird but I've just reached a point of major discontent because of the solid axle. I thought it wouldn't be that big a deal and I'd be able to adapt and live with it, but should've known better.

Well of course, we'd inspect it at the shop post brake line repair.

Time to sell the Firebird and buy something 8 years older that's been sitting for 13 years, seems like a good idea.

For one of those I'd rather spend like 10-12 and buy one that's like super nice.

For closer to 12K I rather buy a C5 Vette, THEN I HAVE IT ALL. Actually I just need to LS swap a S5 FC or FD RX-7 and if that doesn't do it for me then I'll give up on cars completely. I'm fairly sure it would though, since it takes everything I want and puts it into one car. That or I might really like a Z32, especially if it were purple:

Turns out this Cobalt Green was the most popular colour the years it was available, '95-96:

It and the Sapphire Blue, that's just as rare as the Midnight Purple, are close seconds to the purple. The lust is real... Sigh, I really don't want to go through the hassle of selling the Firebird. Because I know it'll be like every other time I've sold a car and 90% of people that contact me will want to trade despite the fact I've explicitly stated that I'm not interested in trading, or if I do put something like "Will trade for '94-95 2+0 Z32 5-speed ONLY" that somehow becomes an open invitation for trucks, SUVs, and all kinds of things I have no interest in whatsoever.

Not car related but have started to pack up things we do not need day to day in preparation for moving next month.
Will be the third time in a year we have moved lol...

Also starting the tedious process of getting power/gas/phone/internet/bills changed to the new address... Wonder how many of these are still going to end up not being moved in time...

Dang man hope you get settled soon!

Not today but the other today I ordered car parts for the first time in forever. Ordered some copper ground straps that might be the fix to the Porsche's starting issue.
