I actually like the second generation of the Paseo/Cynos, but the Sera with the doors is really cool.

Interesting. You'd think as popular as it is for the MR2 it'd have taken off in other Toyota vehicles, but really don't see many others doing it.

Nothing to do with cars but today I built an $18k PC at work.
Dual socket 2011 Xeon Chips, 128GB RAM, 512GB M.2 SSD, 1500watt PSU, x4 GTX1080ti GPU. I also have spent the past few days changing small things around the house to make it a bit more modern. New taps, new showerhead, LED conversion on all outside downlights and internal lights that can be swapped to LED are being -------------------- ------------------------------| White '94 Celica | Bought 11/05/12 | Sold 12/05/15 |------------------------------ |

So finally drove the car today and huge improvement would be an understatement, the car feels so much better to drive it's not even funny. Like I knew it'd be better, but I didn't expect it to be that much better. Rides a little firmer in the back, but not really any stiffer if that makes any sense. The axle is a lot better controlled, I can still feel it move some on really rough roads but it seems to have stopped the whole dancing and shimmying nonsense. Another thing I noticed is when I punch it in first through third instead of squatting it just kind of leans back some instead, which it still throws you back in the seat but now it's more percussive feeling in your chest when you get on it instead of getting flung back and staring at the sky. I think after changing the front shocks and putting on some lowering springs it should be more to where I want the car to be.

Well I have some excited new!!! Traded my VR4 for a 1949 Dodge Deluxe coupe and a 1947 Plymouth special deluxe. Both run and drive amazing for 67 ad 69 years old. The dodge is already painted, new interior, and already converted to a 12v system. The 47 was stripped down to bare metal and ready to be primed and also converted to 12v. Came with all the chrome and original hub caps as well. Pretty neat feature for the 49 dodge, is that it has a system called fluid drive. Basically its a 3 on the tree, and to active the fluid drive you have to drop it into 3rd (high gear) rev to about 1500rpms and let off the clutch and you will here a faint click. That activates the fluid drive which would mean you can drive the vehicle like a automatic, pretty neat technology for back in the day!

Yeah but if you google "2GR-FE swap" 95% of the results are for the MR-2, with other random Toyota cars taking the rest. I should sell the Firebird, import a Sera, and then 2GR swap it.

Nice! I love mid-late 30's and early-mid 40's cars though, all the rounded curves and flares. Coincidentally I also love 90's cars for the same reason, those are the only two times in automotive design where curves and round shapes are in abundance. New cars are so sharp and angular, I don't like them as much. This post has been edited by Box: Aug 1, 2017 - 7:42 PM -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Finally bit the bullet today and ordered brake parts for my Subaru. I don't like spending that much money but the car needs it and I don't think it'll be going anywhere for awhile. I did get a compliment on it today though.

Buttoning up the head unit install but pretty much out of energy, really all I need to do is plug in the aux and snap some trims back on then turn the key and make sure it all works. Feels like it's 2 am.

So after talking to Sam Strano and others it's apparent I just can't afford to get the Firebird where I want it so I'm just better off selling it and getting something else. At bare minimum "given your high standards" this is suggested:
http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetails.php...1&ModelID=4 http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetails.php...9&ModelID=4 With this being preferable: http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetails.php...4&ModelID=4 http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetails.php...9&ModelID=4 And then this with either: http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetails.php...8&ModelID=4 Which aside from the coil-overs none of that is shipping included either. So expensive compared to other cars, like $1,200 gets you fully adjustable coil-overs and sways for a Miata or Integra and then you're done. I've come to the conclusion the saying "Cheap, reliable, fast. Pick two." is wrong and it's actually "Power, handling, cheap. Pick two." Finally bit the bullet today and ordered brake parts for my Subaru. I don't like spending that much money but the car needs it and I don't think it'll be going anywhere for awhile. I did get a compliment on it today though. Going is nice, stopping is nicer. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed
