Probably, but don't count out the RSX, it's got more aftermarket support and that K series engine takes to mods very well and has tons of aftermarket, way more than the Celica and 2ZZ.

Purely off aesthetics and what I can physically see I like the Celica more. Plus it seems easier to find a nice unmodified GT-S than a nice unmodified Type-S, and the Celica is notably less expensive for whatever reason. I like the '98-01 GS-R over the Type-S as well, again from an aesthetics standpoint. Would just need all three lined up to drive right behind each other, would make it easier to decide.

^Exactly, it's part of why I stopped going to shows. Usually it's the same 75% every time and most everything is run of the mill and you've seen it a hundred times Well I'm strange. I remember at one event there was a 599 and a F430 and I couldn't care less but a Galant VR4 pulled up and focked to it. Anyway Box who cares if it looks gutless? I see the Celica's hanging with or handing ass to the Honda's in the tighter more technical portions of the track, the Honda's broader power band giving it an advantage in the wider open areas of the track. I wasn't clear which Celica was which, one was a GT and one a GTS, but in Japan and other places they used a different designation. -------------------- |

Just go with whichever you like better. The only time I was ever just totally infatuated with a car at a show was when there was a 964 Turbo, everything else was the usual stuff. Because hill climbs are life. Honestly it's really close between the Integra, Celica, and RSX. They all have certain things I like more or dislike more each. Yeah the handling was impressive since the Celica was a lot softer than the Type-R from the factory, just kind of crazy how the Hondas just blew by them like they were standing still given the on paper similarities in power. Ahhhhh ok. Both Celicas are a GT-S equivalent being a SS-II, but the silver one has the Super Strut suspension. On my GTS the AC cuts out over a certain amount of throttle, I don't really notice it too much driving on the highway, a little around town. Not nearly as bad as my Mazda or old 7A-FE powered Clonerolla. The AC blows ice cold pretty quick in the Celica with a correct charge and new condenser, the heat comes on strong and quick too. It's not that hard to get a not open differential in those C series transmissions, in fact you can import a gear box with one already installed from the factory. I see about 33-35mpg on the highway doing 70-80mph with frequent full throttle pulls passing others (don't need full throttle to pass, just more fun) with the AC on. Actually unless it's a blazing hot day out (100+ full sun) on the highway the AC gets TOO cold and I have to turn it down or off!
And my Celica DOES NOT sound like angry bees! -------------------- |

Hmmm, really just need to test them to know for sure. I imagine the power delivery would be a fair bit better than the Celica and Miata I had though. Good to know about the LSD trans for the Celica. 33-35 is pretty good, I forgot the Celica was rated a little better than the Integra and RSX. A/C too cold, no such thing when you're heat sensitive in the humid and hot south.

So that means I'll be comfortable leaving it on full blast 24/7.
Seriously though looking around on YouTube, trying to exclude to "HD quality", and all the exhaust videos of any one of them sound from bad to terrible. Then again everyone insists on doing a header, straight pipe, and a straight through muffler. That's what I've got, just a Magnaflow on the stock system. My intake makes as much or more noise. Yea the youtube videos are awful, I think the cheap lil mics on most things have a hard time catching the sound correctly. Mine sounds like a stock or very mild 750-1000cc sport bike exhaust. I'll see if I can get some exhaust clip sometime but don't hold your breath. Keeping the OE resonated tip really kills the buzz.

Does it sound like a Yamaha sport bike? Yeah I'd only change the muffler, if that, as well as the air intake. I don't see why people insist on removing cats on cars, newer ones really aren't restrictive at all. I personally can't stand raw exhaust, I hate my brother's Genesis after he went to full race exhaust. That and on most vehicles removing the cats make it sound way too raspy and obnoxious. I'm not sure what's worse an I4 with straight pipe or trucks with a low compression V8 with oversized straight pipe, like seriously you managed to make a V8 sound like ass good going.

so clean and organized... unlike mine. hahaha I plan on keeping it as organized as possible. Haha! I plan on getting some sheet metal on top as well to keep the plywood from getting stuff spilled on it and whatnot. Reminds me I need to get cabinets organized and setup along with some tool boxes, along with a million other things. These cabinets were original to the house from 73' and they were in the basement set up as wood shop. I have two giant metal cabinets, like 7 feet tall, 3-4 feet wide, and 1-2 feet deep. Just need to get shelving setup so they're more useful.
