so i realized the exhaust i had was a single piece i dont know why exhaust shops do this crap...
![]() and when i took it off the car, i already had cut it in two pieces.... ![]() too long, to put in, and to service... needed to add flanges... ![]() ebay is a good source. all you need is a angle grinder with a cutting wheel, an abrasive wheel, and a MIG welder.... If you can borrow a MIG, do it, learn. Save money.... best way to cut a pipe, with a grinder, is to clamp it. it serves as a guide, even when you use the abrasive disc to remove edges.. ![]() first piece is done.. did not put the process of welding, that is boring.. If you see, i also did the tail pipe... ![]() ![]() use the abrasive wheel to smooth it out and to prepare for welding. ![]() then weld... ![]() i used barbeque paint to protect the welds... enjoy.... -------------------- Learned a lot in 10 years... I'm curious, what are you protecting the welds from? Rust/corrosion?
I'm about to weld a new muffler on one of my vehicles, but hadn't even thought that the welds would need protection. -------------------- -Protection mode, For when your amp tries to blow its load. 1995 Toyota Celica GTS - Daily Driver 1999 Chevy Cavalier - Winter Beater 1994 Honda Civic CX Hatchback - Dead My Celica! |

Good tip with the clamp! I won’t have any time to get my welder out this weekend but maybe this upcoming week I’ll get it out of my shed and start working on some exhaust.
