What’s your ideal set up?
I’m in search of wheels and leaning towards a Concave set up, But my friend is saying I need a lip to match the curves of the Celica. I’ve seen many clean 6gc with all of the above. Looking for inputs on all, and any. -Tia |

it would be better if you were to post images of the wheels you are considering

It just depends on the car, really I'm on the lips for vintage cars and flush faced for more modern ones. Though depending on the car and if done right can have some crossing there, like many more modern cars can pull off a mild lip really well. At the end of the day it's your car, so get what you like.

it would be better if you were to post images of the wheels you are considering Here’s the 3 I’ve narrowed down too, so far. I’m sure there’s more i’d like just haven’t found em. Looking for 17s. 1. Esr Sr08- Straight Concave, may not be as deep as I want it to be though. https://m.ebay.com/itm/ESR-SR08-17x8-5-30-5...4-/263148019578 2. Cosmic Racing- Has Lip with Concave but not sure could be too much. https://m.ebay.com/itm/Cosmis-Racing-XT206R...6.c100890.m2460 3. Xxr 555- these were perfect until I found out the lip size for 17s are 1.75inches, so may be flat face with a lip. https://m.ebay.com/itm/XXR-555-17x8-5x100-1...s-/401354624616 |

id suggest looking up images of the ACTUAL wheels at those sizes. The XXRs, for instance, would look nothing like that given those specs just like you mentioned.
There are owners with Work Kiwami's (what the ESRs are copying) You can look to see how theirs looks Im not sure of anyone running this cosmis. I think there were a couple people running the XXRs. Id suggest posting on the FB 6GC page to see who has these so you can get an idea of what to run, or scour the web a bit and see if you can find pics of celi's with these wheels -------------------- 1995 GT::::Diffusing the Situation エキサイティングカーレーシングチーム! march 2010 COTM : 6GC feature 2014 : january 2015-2016-2018 COTM |

^This.
Another option to the Work or ESR is the Rota Torque. It's the same style with the added benefit of having been around for years, so there are plenty of used sets around for cheap. FWIW: If I was going to spend $1k on a set of wheels, I would look into the used JDM wheel market. If you are on fb, you can look at either of the groups: Rare Wheel Awareness or 5x100 Wheel Classifieds. There are plenty of deals to be had, plus you'll get the quality of an authentic wheel. -------------------- ~bloodMoney

That or 1K on a set gets you new Japanese made Enkei, though I don't think they make what you're looking for. Personally I'd try and stick to a brand that's been around for awhile, and at least something that's been low pressure cast which is how the majority of o.e.m. are made. Flow formed would be even better and is just a step below forged in strength and weight but at a much cheaper price. Though definitely check out what's out there used as well.
