I hope it comes with a couple of gold bars at that price, or you'll be selling it a looooong time.

Honestly, I was trying to help you out by sending a hint: you're asking a ridiculous amount for a beat up car. Have you checked KBB? We all know the prices there are low-ish, but they value this car at $1500 tops, and you're asking triple that. Good luck with the sale though. |

Full disclaimer, there are plenty of good bits to this car but I intentionally posted the worst for the sake of transparency. I did oil and filter changes at 3k without fail. The rotors are replacement blanks and the rad and hoses were changed within the last year. The interior, again not represented well here, is much cleaner than most I have seen in person. There is 12v wiring to the trunk in place. New brake master is the last replacement part. OEM GT front strut bar and a Cusco rear.
KBB can suck a fat one, but I did briefly check some dealer/private listing sites. The price is indeed high but OBO for a reason. I actually do not want to sell it, but would entertain a cheeky offer and wanted to give someone here first whack. If nobody wants it she's going to Craigslist at some point. Thank you all. KBB is as worthless as an appendix, especially on old cars. I listed my Firebird for $5,400 thinking I was overpricing it because I really wasn't wanting to sell it and had someone there within two days with cash even though I'd already changed my mind and told them that on the phone, I guess they thought being there with cash would change my mind. Which it might have had they not told me about how they totaled a Miata by driving stupid as they were looking at it, I knew the Miata had been wrecked prior but I assumed it was at fault of someone else being they were looking at a car with over twice the power... Last I checked I think KBB says the Firebird is worth 3 something, so barely more than what the T-56 alone would bring.
Anyway, I'd think it'd go a long ways to wash the car and then redo the pics. The brake dust all over the rims doesn't portray how much you actually care about the car. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

The wheels will be the first thing tossed by a new owner I'm sure, or at least repainted. They are (were) to my taste. The paint is very soft so they are hard to clean, and I guess I abuse the slow pedal a bit. The car was cleaned prior to pictures, and on that note, for several years I waxed it every couple weeks, sometimes weekly. Water still beads nicely in the good spots, and the driver's side is much more damage-free. The roof can be brought back with a D/O if I bought one.

Note the sunshade in the first picture as well, it is always used, and just like the wax I slathered dressing on the interior vinyl on the regular.
Big negative I forgot - A/C does not blow cold and did not respond to a can of fix-it-yourself stuff, but that was clutching at straws. "Price" dropped to reflect this. All other OEM functions function. This post has been edited by SwissFerdi: Mar 10, 2018 - 1:26 PM -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]

I bought my 98 convertible for $250 and put about $1,000 into it to make it near mint. I bought a 97 Liftback for $600 and had to put maybe $300 into it to make it near mint...
No one is being is being rude on here by saying 4k for a car with damage, rust and missing parts is too much, they're being honest with you. It's a ST instead of a GT also so if anyone wants to motor swap it to a 3sgte they have to do more work... It's the little things...when I sell cars on the side (which I do as a hobby and to make extra $ having 3 kids) I make sure the car has ever last part that it can have to get top dollar. Not having the shift boot....which is a $9 part is super lazy and people won't like that food/dry skin/dust have fallen down into the cables, etc. -------------------- |

FWIW I sold my '95 ST with 190-200K miles for $3,000, then again I'm really charming so your results may vary.

I have a shift boot, but not the manual shifter surround since this was an auto. Again, I don't actually want to sell this car so the price is high but open for someone to make a cheeky offer. If I said 4k firm I could see the point. To quote Barbossa - "They're more like guidelines." Thanks all. Now that it's been quoted what he paid for his if he ever goes to sell them if it's not close to those numbers you can call him out, so everyone's happy.

Price cut in half half-year-later bump! A Craigslist responder is supposed to pick it up next weekend.

Hopefully all goes well there then, had my brother shown the slightest interest in manual(or cars in general really) would've gotten it.
