Hello,

I've converted my 7AFE to a 4AGE 20V Blacktop, but i've kept my C52 gearbox. I want to change to either the Corolla AE111 (C160 gearbox i believe) or the Celica 7G gearbox.

Is it easy to use the 7G gearbox? Can i use my old transaxles with this gearbox? What else do i need to make it happen?

Did search the forum but couldn't find the answer.

Thanks!

i think its because you are pioneering this effort. its a c series tranny, it may work. but i guess you may be on your own.

C60 mates up to the 7A, and has been used with success. I can't find a link to where or who, but it is doable. The C160 is unheard of like Nico said.

ii was at my buddys shop all last week. they were building a mean ass 4A-GE and bolted it up to a C60 from a 7Gen. they used the bell housing from the MR2 trans and gears and body housing from the C60.

this is what it looks like if ya'll ever interested in it...

it sits slightly forward as you can see by pics so it'll give you more clearance to run a 4age blacktop itb setup without worrying about it hitting firewall.

C60 Transmission = $800 (give or take on condition)

Custom Flywheel and Bell housing Adapter Plate = $1500

Clutch Kit = $350.

as far as axles go. the guy in Panama says the S54 axles are plug and plate, but im skeptic of it until i see pics....

he also said the c160 diff is different from the c60 transmission.. how so? doesn't make any sense to me.

not sure how the C160 is different, maybe the linkage on the other side? maybe the gearing, LSD?

yea WAS thinking the same thing anyway. too expensive to justify the extra gear and gearing benefits. but if i had 10,000 monies i'd do it!
