hahaha yeah. I haven't stepped foot in the garage for a month now I think... yeah wayyyyyyyyyy too cold to do anything outside. This winter came late and it was harsh. Deep freeze of -55 followed by a short thaw to melt all the snow JUST so the temps could drop again and freeze all that water and then mother nature said that wasn't enough yet, so rain, wind, sleet and more ice were added. Even with my heater on it's still freaking cold because the barn is so airy.
I'mma just sit here and sip on my whiskey until it's warmer. lol -------------------- *1997 Celica ST - 3SGE Greytop BEAMS *1977 Celica RA29 - Classic Cruiser *2005 Matrix AWD - dedded but still hanging around like a ghost 2019 Rav4 XLE Premium - Sports mode is fun. |

Finally got out to the garage yesterday. It was a whopping 32 degrees so that's Wisconsin warm I guess. Spent the day putting my celi back together. Before my long winter break, I left the car up on jacks with the axle out as I needed to change out the ripped seal so that mean also draining the transmission fluid as well.
Got in the garage, and cleaned up the mess that was left over winter as well as putting some things away just to make more room. changed out the axle seal, put the axles back on, bolted it in, attached the brakes and spindles to the strut etc., pumped fluid back into trans, bled the clutch, put my spacers back on, wheels, and hood as well. Finally got it off the jack stands and back on all 4 wheels and aired them up. Feels good. what's left to do? - I still have to drill the holes for the side mount. Need a better drill/drill bit but it shouldn't be too hard. - wiring: I believe I have to wire this missing wire for the manual start from the starter fuse to ID1 so I need to dig under the dash and find out where that is exactly. hopefully that will solve my no start issue as my harness is completely converted to manual and the AT path basically goes nowhere. (correct me if I'm wrong) per this thread: http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=92362 - check over/add/make new grounds and battery terminals. - get the 2 exhaust gaskets for the header to b-pipe and an extra nut. - fab a new exhaust from b-pipe back. - fix the AC line bolt that I snapped but that's minor and I can do without A/C for now. really hope that's all I need to do. here's a pic because we all love pics -------------------- *1997 Celica ST - 3SGE Greytop BEAMS *1977 Celica RA29 - Classic Cruiser *2005 Matrix AWD - dedded but still hanging around like a ghost 2019 Rav4 XLE Premium - Sports mode is fun. |

messed around with it this past weekend.
decided to forego the whole clutch start safety switch and just wired it into the neutral start and was able to crank it with the key now but yet another roadblock. started leaking fuel. checked and it was leaking from at the fuel rail by the banjo bolt. so gonna order some washers and hopefully it'll get fuel and start. -------------------- *1997 Celica ST - 3SGE Greytop BEAMS *1977 Celica RA29 - Classic Cruiser *2005 Matrix AWD - dedded but still hanging around like a ghost 2019 Rav4 XLE Premium - Sports mode is fun. |

I fall off the face of the Earth, come back a different person, and you still aren't done? What gives? um...... yeah.... I know .... just this damn mother nature won't stop crapping on Wisconsin. Snow in the forecast tomorrow and Friday by the way so I think if I DON'T work on the car it'll be sunny but if I work on the damn car, it'll snow. hopefully that banjo bolt comes off easier for you than it did for me. It was loose and missing a washer?. lol I must've put that on my to do list and totally forgot. Luckily the parts BEAMS had them so I just switched the two and no more leak but still no spark so gonna try and figure that out. -ECU getting power and grounded -CEL on -COR is working -EA1 wires are good and plug is on tight Will slowly go through the check list for spark once the snow passes through.... ugh. -------------------- *1997 Celica ST - 3SGE Greytop BEAMS *1977 Celica RA29 - Classic Cruiser *2005 Matrix AWD - dedded but still hanging around like a ghost 2019 Rav4 XLE Premium - Sports mode is fun. |
