Are they plasti-dipped? Is box going to come up to TOTD somehow? Nah, not plastidipped, just black 3D printed plastic. I’m contemplating having them painted but I wouldn’t know what color to paint them. Yes, the S needs to be painted red and the rest I dunno yet but the S has to be red. -------------------- |

That IS effed up. I would've sued the shop for all the fees plus damages and time lost.
Unfortunately, that is a very Chicago thing to do. I hate admitting that, but it's true. Sometimes living here is like living in Gotham City minus Batman. -------------------- ~bloodMoney

I probably shouldn't have read that article before bed, I was angry just thinking about it, lol. Just b.s. that the city can basically over rule a state court decision.

I think it'd look a lot better with black rivets against the red.

While I would agree, black coated stainless will be quickly sandblasted into sandblasted stainless. Black titanium bolts are too expensive and might get sand blasted back to the base color as well. I can't think of anything other than a plastic bolt that would be black all the way through and I didn't look for plastic bolts. Maybe if there's a black cap that snaps into the center of the bolt but then that's just getting to be a bit much.

Could always oil treat steel rivets(or maybe find some already done) and that'd hold up fairly well I'd imagine.

Well allegedly the garage door is being replaced this weekend so then the Firebird can be taken to the Fiat/Alfa/Maserati dealership so the paint and body guy can finish it. I would say it'd be tempting to trade it in on a Fiat 124 Abarth if I had the money, but now with the Miata having received its update to the engine increasing power and the redline I'd have to go with it even though I like the looks of the 124 more.

Could always oil treat steel rivets(or maybe find some already done) and that'd hold up fairly well I'd imagine. My tires grab and redistribute sand and gravel across my wheel wells like *insert witty communism pun here*. Remember that episode of Top Gear where they ran super cars flat out down the abandoned airport in Spain and the sand literally eroded the cars? That's what it sounds like when I drive down my street after a hard rain washes all the fine debris back onto the surface. I'm not even sure the red anodized finish won't get sand blasted off the washers. Also I don't think you can oil or blue stainless, can you? Also I can't do rivets, then I'm boned when I need to take the liners out later on for something else! Speaking of, I should pull them out and give them a good washing and treatment with Forever Black. I need to rotate the tires and re-balance them before the dragon anyway, so I'll put the car up on two jacks and clean the wheels then take them to work two at a time to check balance and rotate, might send the bent one out to get straightened if I have time...it's just those tires were kind of a bitch to mount so I really don't want to dismount/remount one. I figured I'd just wait till I wore through them to get the wheel fixed but crap I'm just not driving it enough! And I still haven't gotten that intake put on yet, I'll do that after the dragon. No big mods immediately before big trips. Also I'm bringing my torque wrench set to 85 ftlbs for everyone to use, don't want of us idiots having a wheel off from loose nuts. We got enough loose nuts already! You're not wrong tho. This post has been edited by Bitter: Jul 25, 2019 - 8:55 PM -------------------- |

Ahh ok, it looked like rivets in the picture which is why I said that. In that case finding some oil blackened screws or bolts should be easy.
