Ok but seriously. Two side by side behind the seats, one in the passenger seat, and one in the 'trunk'. No? Woot, found a scrap of the right size oil cooler hose in my basement junk. I can finish bending the aluminum lines and get the the thing installed tomorrow then run the car and check for leaks. I'm a bit worried that the 3/8th compression fittings feel a little loose around the tubes. I think they'll be ok, I've not slid ferrules on larger tubes like these so worst case I need to get flare fittings somewhere tomorrow I guess or figure something else out. Also debating on if I should run a stat on the cooler or not. I'm thinking no since it's a warm weather car. Another idea I had was to get an inline switch that's like 180 on and 160 off (most common temps) and have it drop ground to the radiator fan low speed relay to kick that fan on for trans temp but with the size of the cooler I doubt that'll be needed. Trans does have a thermistor inside it, but I haven't (yet) been able to find a temp-resistance chart for it so I can measure fluid temps accurately inside the trans. Woot, figured out which code has two points of temp to resistance correlation, I can assume it's a linear thing and plot out a chart. Does anyone make a handy little temp display that's programmable? Well, the o.e. suspension will go into the trunk. Which if they were bare wheels it'd make life a lot easier, but it is what it is.

Wait, are you just floating over on a cloud or something? Have whomever is driving you take some stuff back in their car!? Haha, feels like it. He said he'd wrap the wheels in garbage bags so then I don't have to worry about getting mom's car dirty. He also cleaned the Miata and sent me a pic just now: -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Buy it and don’t look back. I threw some Rotella in mine today, have yet to drive it but she usually runs better with fresh dino oil.
Also treated myself to a nice Corsair headset. Lows are a little disappointing, but otherwise the audio is very crisp. Simulated 7.1 is very nice for gaming, I can hear noobs in CSGO doing circles now. Feels built like a Volvo too, and very padded. -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]

Turns out it actually has 64K miles on it, so even better! Super nice guy and very helpful, absolutely the best car buying experience I've ever had! It has Dunlop Direzza DZ102 with plenty of tread left, very nice tires! The Bilstein/Fat Cat motorsports coil-overs ride great too! A bit nicer than the stock Shinsen my brother had actually. Took me awhile to get used to not having gobs of torque though, but I absolutely love it already! Some quick pics:

Looks good for the age! What's the plan for it? Thanks! Drive it! At some point I'd like to have the seats recovered though. Maybe vinyl wrap it purple. For now the only "mods" I plan on doing is swapping out the headlights for 9011/9012 bulbs and finding a good festoon LED for the courtesy light. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Has a 1.8, bitches about lack power. But congratulations. Looks like a nice set of go-fast parts as well. I really wasn't complaining it was just an observation in how it took me a bit to adjust, e.g. starting from a stop and climbing hills vs the Firebird. Trust me I'm MUCH happier with it as a whole. Thanks! The wheels, tires, and suspension make for a nice improvement over the Shinsen my brother had that I drove a few times. I spent earlier carefully removing the camera and phone mounts off the dash, then used the last of my citrus air freshener to set the atmosphere. Then the plate/trunk lights broke trying to remove them to put in some LEDs I had, but I found some LED housings on eBay that're a direct replacement and ordered those. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

You should've 6-speed swapped it, then wouldn't need a trans cooler.
I suspect there's a stage 2 clutch in the Miata, as the clutch is grabbier with shorter travel and a firmer pedal than either my NA6 or the NB2 my brother had. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Oh Lord I would need...
Clutch kit Flywheel A good C60 trans Limited slip Probably different axles Shift cables Shifter Shifter base Center console surround Shift boot Shift knob Clutch slave Clutch pedal assembly Clutch master Lines Reservoir ECU Gauge cluster And probably a few things I'm forgetting. It would be a huge investment of time and money and totally change the character of the car and take away one of it's most unique quirks. Not saying it would be a bad thing, it would be great but I just don't think I'll ever do that unless the auto trans breaks and that's the cheaper option over fixing the auto. -------------------- |

Was looking around at LEDs on Amazon, so who's the go to these days? Figured I'd ask you since you always seem to know what's best at the moment. As much as I'd like to do amber for the courtesy light, it's the only bulb in the interior so perhaps I should just go with blinding white. Though the factory lens is tinted for whatever reason. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

From searching around seems like this Sirius LED might be the way to go? Hmm...

I think I have some Sirius LED’s in my Lexus. If not the Lexus then Brigette’s Rav, one or the other. I won’t call them great but they’re decent. It’s been over a year in the Rav and 11 months in the Lexus with no flickering. They’re just a little more blue than I would like and about 90% as bright as I would like but overall no complaints. I have a bunch of Yorkim LED’s from Amazon too and there’s no difference between the Sirius or Yorkim LED’s in either car, hence why I can’t remember which ones are there. I still prefer Diode Dynamics (although the fog lights are awful) but for the price, I’m satisfied with the Sirius LED’s.
Reference of why to not get Diode Dynamics LED fog lights. Yes, this picture is accurate. No, you can’t really tell that they’re even turned on. Yes, I do have 194’s that are brighter. -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates.
