Possibly, link some you're looking at and I'll check them out when I'm home. Well aside from Philips and Sylvania it seems like Sirius were the only 360° LEDs out there, since there is a reflector of sorts I imagine as halogen like as possible would be best. Here's the one I found: https://www.amazon.com/SIRIUSLED-Interior-C...ref_=ast_sto_dp https://www.amazon.com/SIRIUSLED-Interior-C...ref_=ast_sto_dp I'm inclined to go amber since the rest of the interior lighting is already amber, and it's easy on my eyes. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Don't bother with 360, they'll just come up dim. Get one sided ones that'll flood out approx 180 degrees.
https://www.amazon.com/LUYED-Lumens-Bright-.../dp/B075MC9QTZ/ I'd try those, they're warm white which is more of a really bright white with very little blue like a very bright halogen bulb in color and they're very bright. Maybe too bright but is there really even such a thing? You don't want amber, you'll have no color perception in the car with a mono-color bulb like that. No heat sink on these, add one if possible to extend life https://www.amazon.com/JAVR-Extremely-400Lu.../dp/B07RKRTF6D/ These have a heat sink on the back, may be more durable. So. I misunderstood how Toyota labelled the oil cooler lines and I have my cooler on the wrong side of the radiator part of the cooler system so I need to swap things around and re-make the aluminum lines. Otherwise I'll be trying to cool the fluid before it goes into the radiator for it to be re-heated instead of cooling it after it leaves the radiator which is the ideal way to do it so the trans fluid is cooler than engine coolant temp.
*rages internally* Well it's fine, this is fine. I'm waiting on more trans fluid anyway. I pulled out more than the 4qts I ordered. I think I actually only need to remake one line fully and should be good. -------------------- |

Looks good for the age! What's the plan for it? Thanks! Drive it! At some point I'd like to have the seats recovered though. Maybe vinyl wrap it purple. For now the only "mods" I plan on doing is swapping out the headlights for 9011/9012 bulbs and finding a good festoon LED for the courtesy light. Seats do look pretty worn, do you prefer the tan interior or would you rather have black/gray interior? Maybe even go purple or white if you vinyl wrap the car purple lol |

That's ok, I saw a few other low mileage NB2 with torn leather seats so I suspect the perforated leather seats are prone to being worn and torn. I think for a convertible I prefer tan, since it doesn't get as hot as black, but I definitely prefer clothe since I don't stick to them. Decisions. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

...I got nothin...
I sat down and figured out what I need to do to fix my swapped cooler lines **** up. Should be simple, I have plenty of line left on the coil so I'm not worried just annoyed at myself. I sucked another 1/2 qt of trans fluid out that ran down into the pan sitting for the past day, just shy of 6qts. Considering dry fill is 8qt and drain and fill is 4.3qt I think I did pretty well, there's another 2qts hiding somewhere in there. I'll try sucking the pan again tomorrow, 75% fluid change isn't bad. I should change out my power steering fluid as well while I'm at it, it's been a while and that stuff gets beaten up pretty good too. The Redline D4 is way too expensive for that, I'll use something less expensive there like our universal fluid at work or something from the parts store. I'm also due to change coolant, it's been almost 10 years now I guess but I'll hold off till next year on that probably just cause it can be a pain to bleed it. It'll be all set for me to not drive some more next year! I really need to get out on a nice day once it's together and just drive around all day with it, run through a tank of gas and have a nice day out with it. There's some good driving out west of here but getting there is pretty boring. I promised Joe (narly charly) a day to drive it, maybe I can figure that out finally. Edit: Woot Woot, fluid is arriving early on Friday according to UPS which now that I've said that it'll probably get here on time Tuesday or a day late. I used RedLine Power Steering Fluid in the Firebird and it seemed to make a fairly notable improvement in feel, less squishy and more firm response.
Speaking of, I need to do fluids on the Miata soon even though they've been done by the book it just happens to be the time to do them again. I might have enough Castrol DOT 4 to get the clutch and brakes partially, perhaps enough RedLine PSF to get it partially; will just have to check. It's had Rotella T6 in the engine and Motorcraft XTM5QS since new, and from my understanding T6 isn't even that great so I'll be switching to Quaker State Ultimate Durability for sure. Can't decide if I want to keep with the Motorcraft or go to Valvoline Syncromesh, though for what it's worth the Motorcraft in there seems to work ok; the Firebird's T-56 felt better to use, so maybe Synchromesh will help the feel of the Miata's transmission. -------------------- 2001 Miata LS 5-speed

Anddd apparently Ford Racing and Motorcraft oil filters are the best now, go figure. Motorcraft oil filter for the Miata is $4.29 off RockAuto, but more entertaining is apparently the Miata uses the same oil filter from 1990-2020.

You need a FS-ZE swap for that Miata. Or a FS-DET.
