Oh yeah, I decided to take a body progress pic recently to show off how things are coming along:

It's amazing what just hormones can do, really.

Took the fiancée to test drive a '97 SC400 at a "buy here pay here" lot, it was all original aside from the stereo but you could tell it has lived a rough life. Worn interior, heatshield and interior rattles, all electric motors were slow and catching(passenger mirror didn't work at all), clunky going into drive and reverse, needed brakes and suspension, door handle assembly wasn't smooth and hinges needed refurbished, etc...

At least she knows she likes them now, so there's that. Going to find a GS400/430 so that she can decide between them.

We also found out I don't like the Mustang clutch. Twofer.

Fairly certain that the SC400 will be my choice but eh.

How did you all feel about the SC door opening angle? I always found it weird!

Problem is for all we know you always looked like this! laugh.gif I can't say I ever saw anything other than a Cousin It amount of hair and maybe some vaguely represented appendages. Pretty sure you were just made of hair and one arm at one point!

I miss my 93 sc400. I did a complete black interior swap, bc coilovers, freshened up the steering components and all services. I have 99 gs400 as summer family car. Waiting to install my black interior, fresh headlights, tails and then the airlift system I just picked up from a fellow enthusiasts.

Personally the 99 1uz feels snappier, vvti can be the reason. The 93 1uz is great if you wanna build it up for boost. Otherwise I truly enjoy the 99 more.

The opening angle didn't seem that weird, though I was busier noticing how heavy the door was and that it needed the hinges refurbished.

Haha, I wish I always looked like this. I wasn't much for pictures before, a lot better now but still room for improvement. Indeed I was just hair for the longest time, now I'm hair with boobs and hips. biggrin.gif

They're nice looking cars, just too big for my tastes. Reminded me of the Firebird in terms of size, albeit not as wide. She likes bigger vehicles though.

The GS400/430 is like 1.2 seconds faster to 60 than the earlier SC400, so that's probably a lot of it.

Haha those things get much bigger the steering wheel is going to start getting in the way in the Miata LOL. Hows your shoulders/back doing with it? I recall you having back/neck/shoulder issues and I know my chesty friends do complain about that.

To me, it's just the Look that matters. I got a daily i'm picking upon the 27th unless someone lists a running SC400 or Manual Z31/Z32 for <2600k before then.

Hell yeah!

So how's the Miata been doing? You get some retina scorching headlights for it to rival the Firebird yet?

The Miata is great, most fun I've ever had with a car. Only thing I'd change is the rollbar for a factory windblocker.

Sadly there's not anything that can be done with the NB2 lights that's worth doing. Maybe some mini H1, but bleh.

Bae's new-to-her car we picked up yesterday:

I polished the headlights earlier since that was easy enough, will test fit the factory wheels from the Miata once it's nicer out since she likes how they look.
