 Clicking noise from front drivers side, any ideas what it could be? |

to check if its you wheel bearing, take the tire off, then the brake caliper, then the rotor. wiggle the wheel hub if there is excessive play then its you bearing for sure, and in my opinion those are a b*tch to change if the bearings are frozen. also while youre there check those boots make sure theyre not ripped

They can indeed be difficult to change. If you don't have easy access to a press, just have a shop remove and install the new bearings. Once I get a good host for my pics, I'll write up a thread with my experiences. |

and if you do decide to change those bearings without a press, please be very carefeul to not damage any part of the housing, a scratch or dent will possibly ruin it

BOUNCE -
well replaced whole drive shaft on the drivers side bu ticking still occuring but have recently have noticed that the ticking goes away whenever i dip the clutch  any ideas what it could be? the ticking is becoming increasingly irritating!!!!!

did u check ure wheel bearing?

Sounds like an axle. I have had that happen twice and both times it was an axle. The boot tears and it kills them pretty quick.

but the ticking sound goes away when i dip the clutch surely it cant be the axle???? fastgt - yeah checked wheel bearings and mechanic said nothing wrong |

I have to take my car to toyota dealer and get it checked...to see whts wrong with it....so it makes it easier for u too know!!! my dealer charges about 59 bucks for the check up

toyota going to run checks on the whole car for $59? or just to identify what could be the cause for the ticking???

wow that to much stuff to check to see if your bearing.. just jack up the car and take on hand on the wheel and put it on 2o clock.. and the other hand at 6o clock.. and push on hand and pull the other one..... if the wheel wiggles.. then yea you need a new bearing -------------------- |
