As a ex-celica owner (sold it 3 months ago), I'm still obsesed with it.

I've also heard that the new owner ****ed it up even more!!!

I'm sad.

... I've been driving a 98 Mercedes ML320 (SUV) that I bought back in December, but it's not as fun as my old celica.

The reason that I bought SUV (besides being 6'7"), is that i've had too many tickets with all the previous cars. I'm not 21 yet (untill July) and I've already ****ed up 3 times. Yes, my license has been suspended three times. Lawyer fees have been up to $5,000 mark (heh, the price of engine swap), and basically if I would have gotten a single ticket, I would have to say bye-bye to my license for a long time.

Well that's at least untill you turn 21 (according to Illinois law since they have a lot stricter rules compared to 21 and above). Basically I've been ticket free for over 2 years (heh, I had to), and once I turn 21 one i'm planning to buy a new car. I would still keep the SUV for business purposes, but a new (used) sporty car.

All the way uptill now my choice has been a 99-00 Corvette that I can pick up in about $25K price range...

THIS IS WHAT CHANGED MY MIND

OH MY GOD SO SEXY (Celi in the new Juiced game)

basically this is the same body kit as my old celica!!!

so right now I'm debating if I should get a Corvette in July or just pick up a '99 Celica GT (Hatch) and spend the other $10K in go+show mods (3sgte + veilside).

sweet the corvette is a very nice car and very fast! so if you think you had problems as far as speeding in the celica man the corvette will kill you. for the speed and looks go for the vette. but if your still in love with the celica then itll be a tough choice. personally ill get the vette but its your choice

Vette if you want a nice car that is quick. Celica if you want to do aftermarket modification. Hard 2 say 'cause i love doing stuff to my car but a vette is just sick.

Corvettes are still one of the "only" American cars that I like.

Putting money into Celica is not economical since you never get the amount that you put in (trust me, I've had lots of experience with that).

Corvettes hold their value and since it's already freaken fast, I won't need to sink money into it.

But, then I might get bored with the Corvette, while Celica will be getting updated/refreshed with new parts, which would mean "getting bored with it" syndrome will not exist for some time...

what's up GhostDog... I see that you are still a mod!

well yea but here in Chicago area Supra's are a lot of $$$.

Basically you have it like this...

FOR $25,000

2000 Corvette = 1994 Supra TT

hmm... well the reason I'm staying away from Supra is that for the same amount of money I can get a car "as fast" and 6 years newer. On Corvette you have better body + mileage because it's newer (remember I didn't say anything about undestructible 2JZ family in Toyota/Lexus, Supra has that on Vette, LOL)

I love Supra but it's out of question ( I've decided that long time ago)... and getting Hayabusa is out of question as well (heh too tall for bikes lol)

Remember money is still small issue since I don't have it growing on trees.

Vettes be fast...and if I had that kinda money I'd prolly go for a little older with low miles and mint. My Gramps just bought a 93 40th Anniversary Edition LT1 with 53k original miles and already had custom piping for $17k.

Yeah the Vette is nice...definitely ride is nice and whatevah...but man look on ebay! Find a few Supras on there in your price range and go check em out...most are in either Florida or Cali so make a weekend trip out of it or something....they be way cheaper out in them places...

And if you do go with the Vette then cool man cuz it's ur choice...but too many people have them and of those are mostly old people. That's just my honest opinion...

Lets just say this: Vette = car a guy buys when he's going through his mid-life crisis.

Vette or Celi... Just look at your options.. with a vette you have the power to back up the looks.. but you also have a car that all those rich men that are going though their mid-life crisis buy cause they couldn't afford the car when they were 21..

celi.. you have a sexy ass car that really doesn't have the muscle to back up anything... but who cars about that.. cause why would you want to drive such a sexy ass car so fast that other people can't see you in it..

than again you can put enuff money in to a celi that you can plow the doors off a vette if the money is put into the car the right why..

me i would go with the celi.. just cause reliablity issues ... i have 202,XXX miles on my celi and she is still going strong..

I'm with him...I mean...sure the Celi is sexy with a 3SGTE....but an Evo or an STI. I would never regret it.
