Can someone do an guide to the different models. I know what GT, ST, GT4's are... but I keep seeing GTS (i thought not made in 6th gen), STX, SX-R and more. I know U.S. should only have GT and ST, but just for fun i'd like to know what all the other celicas are. A model and the engine, rhd/lhd should be good enough for me. Or just point me in the direction to find out myself. Thanks.

Oh and I keep seeing a Civic GTR - is this for real??????
(thats a joke)

GTS is in Canada.
STX i think is a fully loaded ST...not very prominent in the U.S.

GTS is only in canada and all the s means is that alloy rims, spoiler, passenger sport bucket seat, and gts emblem is standard and not an option. If you have GT with all the options except sunroof, you'll have a GTS

I've seen a few STX's around my area... I've talked to two people that have them, and they don't know the difference. I really don't see much of a difference b/t the STX and the ST... my ST has had the exact same options/setups as both STX's I've overlooked personally.

Maybe my car is an STX, just not marked, maybe not... but either way, no major or minor differences that I've noted.

This doesn't help much ... but I'm bored... so I don't care smile.gif

GT-S was the canadian US spec GT with the sport suspention option. STX's are dealer created "special editions"...

good. I'll have to due some more research on the SX-R to make sure it is a true GT. I just think putting those badges on would look a little better. But i'm not putting badges on my car if they dont belong there somewhere. LIKE GTR AND TYPE-R. God, there are more type-r civics in Wi then you'd ever believe. But we wont get into that.

Would any of you Celi-Guys have a problem with SX-R badging on my car???

http://www.6gc.net/photo.php?file=/images/...otos/2419_5.jpg

After searching members rides, i found this. It is Austraila and is a GT. Now, does anyone know if how I can get replacement badging from a different country???

I think I heard something before that the SX-R was all wheel steering or something like that. I'll try to find more info on it.

edit: NM I think that was the celica GTR that was awd.

I'm thinking the australian models were sx=st and sx-r=gt.

SX-R just sounds better than GT to me.

Does anyone else agree?

Also a way for me to get these badges would be great.

The only 4wd celica is the gt4

The GTR is the JDM 4th and 5th gen celica equiped with the 3sge.
There is also the ZR, the 5th gen that has the 3sfe.

In the 6gc group there is the ss-1, which has a 3sfe, and the ss2 and ss3,which both have the 3sge. Im not too sure what the differences were between the earlier(1993-1997) ss2 and ss3, but the 98-99 ss3 has the beams 3sge and the same spoiler blocks as the GT-4

Sorry about that. I meant AWS(all wheel steering). I think thats what the GTR was.

Only some of the GTR's had 4ws, their model number was st183, as opposed to st182 for the non 4ws
