this is a question for all of you that have put neon underbody kits on your cars.

i've looked under my car and it looks like it would be kinda hard to find a place to put the 2 side lights on. i was wondering where you placed yours. pics would be cool if you got 'em.

thanks

Dont... smile.gif

I love underbodies... but the Celica doesn't have long enough side skirts for the side bars to fit. From a 20 foot distance, they look like s.hit. If you get a bodykit / lip skirt, then go for it. You can bolt them to the supports that the stock molding is bolted too. Its hard to explain, but the light will be right next to the stock side skirt. I've installed unders for all of my friends and people will money so I have a little experience. I didnt install them on my car, but my friend with a 97 Celi had me do it and this is the only place I could without it being way in the middle of the car. Good luck if you do... but I suggest side skirts first.

Edit: I just read your sig... LOL, only computer nerds will understand though

Here is a pics of my celica with white and orange neons under it.

both sets were actuall zip tied to the holes in the underside of the stock sides. u can also screw then in with the included self tapping screws and hangers.
the front and rear tubes r just zip tied to holes or something sturdy to hold the tube securely.
u can see them a lil from the side, maybe 5-6 inches of tube, but no matter where u put them, they can still be seen.
i had 2 sets, red and white, on and one set was screwed on the inside of the pinch frame and the other was zipped to the skirts.

Hey Jared, are the bulbs hidden pretty well even without sideskirts and whatnot? I wanna pick up some neons, but I don't want any of the bulbs showing cuz i hate that.

I mounted mine just inside the rim, just screwed in the mounting brackets. i think its look bad, but eh. you would not beable to see the bulb at all if i had sideskirts, the frunt was the hardest, i ended up screewing it into the plastic sheald stuff, and its already broken is several places. the back is screwed onto the spare tire endent, and sits over the muffler, probibly the worst mounted, but looks the best.

check profile for pic's.

yea...akimbo.. its a bummer. I love neons, just not neon bars. You really cant hide the side bars unless you have side skirts. I drilled where the other guys say they zip tied. The one I did was zip tied first then drilled because I wanted it as sturdy as possible. Still didn't look good. I cant remember if I took pictures or not... but it looks very similar to creis's.

nothing against your car cries... but I hate this - car looks good though smile.gif

I'll just wait for side skirts biggrin.gif

I really dont suggest adding any glow until youve got a good looking exterior. Neon is meant to showcase your custom car while in park, not to light up the highway. And looking through your cardomain site, youre not ready. But thats just my view on neons.

yea you can defenitly hide them better than that, just the other day i saw a civ. with his rear neon practically ON the REAR BUMPER it was maybe 10% under the car..i hate that. but i stuck my rear neon up behind the bumper and it did good, then the front one since i have a vader front with a custome gt-4 scoop i put right infront of the hood latch on the inside and it glows down....but i took the rear off cause it broke so just the front "mouths" glow now

if you mount it on the inside of the metal that player was talking about you will still see it. you cant do anything to hide it other than get skirts. also be careful where you mount the front one make sure that nothing will hit it if you scrape or go over a speed bump. if your gonna be able to see the bulbs dont put it on cause it looks like shyt if they arent hidden

You've got sideskirts, so they hide easier too.
