I wanna buy these for my seventh gen gts rims as strictly summer tires. What's the consensus on this tire for the 16 inch GTS rims? And how do they look/feel/handle/last?

i don't like the 711's, they don't stick very well. i like the 712's better. about the same tread life. i have the nankang ns-2's and i really like them.

i just bought some for my 3000GT.. They are alright.. seem to be alittle noisey and the traction is SO SO. For the price they are fine in my opinion.

With the celica..with all celica's i have driven... The back doesnt whip out either... the front understeers in the rain. 711's are on the 3000GT... no sliding around with the 3 sets of tires ive had on it This post has been edited by bufferdan: Jun 8, 2004 - 12:02 PM -------------------- |

A buddy of mine has them on a mustang and he complains about both wet traction and sidewall being too stiff.

if you wanna pay a little more the yokohama es100's outperform 'em

I like my 711's although they didnt last me but about 9 months. . . oops too much at the track. I think they are pretty good track tires once they have burned out a little bit, but for year round tires I say go with 712's a friend of mine with a 240 sx auto crosses on them and he likes them. Its your car do what you want. They are good tires, I have no complaints. I have enjoyed every day with my 711's, I will more than likely get more 711's after this set.

I'd go with the supra 712's they are good for that amount of money, they work good on vegas ground, but then agian the roads are so hot here as long as it's not raining almost anything sticks. So for summer tires I would go with them, imo

Same here... supra's on 7th gen 16" GTS rims - 250/50/zr16. Very nice compared to the Pirelli p6000 i had before. It all depends on how much money you want to spend and how you drive. I found the 712's to be a good compromise between $$$/performance... Id rather run 2 sets of these until 50% used than 1 set twice pricier until they are no good at all. |
