Sounds like it might be your clutch. Were there any funny sounds or smells from your engine bay or anything? If not then it's probably your clutch.

nope...there weren't any funny sounds or smells coming from the car...from the people in this town i've heard severall different possibilites for what's wrong...we still haven't figured it out yet...it's still cutting on, but shifting the gears does nothing...thanx Coomer

Does the car jump and stall if you attempt to start it up in gear, if not I tend to
agree with coomer..

does the clutch pedal have any pressure in it? if it just hits the floor then it's definitely your clutch, but yeah it sounds like something is wrong with your tranny mad.gif

hey you're right about that one Jason...it was a slow process getting her on the truck as it was.. just got back in town not too long ago..I checked the pressure in the clutch and it basically feels normal to me.. The guy at the shop checked that as well...But he wasn't very sure either... frown.gif ...i miss my ride already

try your tranny fluid... you might be out...

Me and my friend where out of town a couple of years ago in his piece of **** olsmobile 98 and his tranny went out... only had reverse... we got out and jacked the car up and took the rear end off and flipped it over... took about 2 hours but we where stranded... Once we bolted it on upside down we were able to drive in reverse... where moving forward because we flipped it over.. could only get to about 30 mph but it got us to to nearest town.... you guys should of seen the mechanics face when he finally figured out what we had done... straight up KODAK moment... god that was funny........sorry spaced off there.

It really sounds like your clutch or trans is gone... probably will need to replace it.. don't pay for a rebuild kit there junk for the 6th gens.
